Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Thank you Josh for the Maroon Eureka, great trade. Now don't scare me by saying your after my Menefee:D:thumbup:

Lucky for you that I haven't wrapped my head around the cost of customs yet. I gave it a looks but just can not do it yet probably because I have never seen one in person.

But ... When I do watch out and hold your Dowells and Menefees close because I'm coming for them. Someone had a Dowell dogleg in ivory paper micarta with blue and canvas micarta liners that haunts me.

Some cheap older used stuff dare I say vintage, one is marked Japan took the old scales off as they were beat up, an Imperial, and one simply marked USA, I love getting these old knives for a mere pittance, they sharpen up nicely and easily and I'm not afraid to beat them to up haha.

Fabulous stag 72s, folks! Congrats to TheFactor, johnny twoshoes, Harry, and cbr1000!:thumbup: I hope they'll all show up again in the Stag Saturday thread! ;)

Wow, that's eerie, kagato!! :eek::confused::eek:;)

Those ARE some nice ones, Jack! Blessings to Randy for his generous spirit!

Congrats, Greg; that's an outstanding knife! Someday I should do some kind of birth year/anniversary/other meaningful date kind of knife thing.

Congrats on a gorgeous knife, Kilt!!

I had a minor spending spree on Labor Day, so I'll be gradually posting some of those knives here as time allows. A little reluctant to post my low-budget stag here after seeing those stunning GEC stag 72s, but such is the path I've chosen for myself. :p Here are a couple of stag-handled Colt knives, a canoe (a "back-up" for a Colt stag canoe I bought quite a while ago) and a muskrat. Actually, I like the stag on the muskrat A LOT!!

Is the colt knife new? how is it? I've been looking at a lot of their traditional's lately, some in the titanium series as well thought I'd ask about them, I'm very close to loading up on quite a few of them haha.

Thanks GT. Given your affinity for numbers, I'm surprised you haven't yet sought out a knife with either a model number or production year that has significance to you. Fortunately, the longer you wait, the more significant numbers you'll accumulate, making your task easier. ;)

I like both of your new acquisitions, but the canoe has me the most captivated. I've yet to handle an example of the pattern, but have been enjoying them vicariously through the frequent expansion of your fleet.

By the way, what is that style of bolster called? I've heard the term "pinched bolsters", before. Are those an example? The term would seem to fit...
...
Hey, wait a minute! Is this "Pick on a Geezer Day"?? :D Believe me, Greg, I've done some numeric searching. I have a list somewhere of all the GEC models that were released on my or my wife's birthday, or on our wedding anniversary. And I half-heartedly search occasionally for a Vic Soldier stamped with a meaningful year. I did win a GAW with a Schrade-Wostenholm stag canoe that turned out to have a serial # that's my birthdate in DD/MM format. :D

I'm not an authoritative source, but I think you're correct that the bolsters on the two stag Colts I posted are pinched bolsters.

Sirryacus, I like those oldies you posted above!

Yes, I ordered those stag Colts new on Labor Day. I think I have 7 Colt pocket knives, and I'm VERY happy with all of them! They are all well-built with what I consider excellent fit and finish. For what it's worth, I have a Colt canoe with G-10 covers and titanium-coated carbon steel blades that I think is fantastic; I think the "titanium series" from Colt has stainless titanium-coated blades with black smooth bone handles, but I'd have no reservations about getting one. Here's a photo of my Colt:

Awesome thanks.

Nice looking Colt Canoe. The bolsters appear to be pinched and threaded (1 line).

GT, that is good looking Colt canoe. They just keep getting better...huh:thumbup::thumbup:
Thanks, Gary & Gev. :) I've had that black Colt canoe for well over a year, and I'm very pleased with it; I was especially happy to get a Colt knife with carbon steel blades. But I'm puzzled by Colt's decision to put a titanium coating on carbon steel blades. Maybe it's protection against rust/patina. (I suppose Colt's use of titanium coating on stainless blades is even more puzzling - probably a marketing decision.)

I ended up picking up a Colt Medium Stockman with Black Stag Bone Handle Scales, I'm seriously considering the Modified Trapper and the Whittler Titanium Series and a Hawkbill and a Congress in Brown Stag.

With hunting season upon us, I picked up a new hunter from Tkrocky here on the forum. This is the Bushcrafter pattern, but has a beautifully shaped drop point for all-around hunting and outdoor use. Stonewashed CPM-3V @ 61, 9¼" OAL, with catalpa burl and green canvas micarta handles. Should do great!

Very cool knife, Jeff. I really like the effect of having the burl wood up high on the handle and the micarta near the butt. It also makes a lot of sense to me. When you're using the knife you get the benefit of the grippy micarta while the burl is up towards the blade where it's smoothness is not as likely to cause a slip. In my mind this is a very well thought out knife. Be sure to let us know how it works in practice.

This one came in the mail today.
Dark red bone Copperlock. I really like this pattern and will put it in the edc rotation as soon as I get a decent edge on it.
