Case Peanut and Seahorse Whittler in Rogers Jigged Walnut Bone

Harry

Wow that wallnut bone with the (rat tail?) Bolsters looks great! I didn't know they did a Seahorse Whittler in this configuration ... Oof I thought I was done buying knives for a while ... got to resist ... [emoji33] [emoji4]

My first Primitive Bone, the #66 Calf Roper. A really nice example (picked up on the exchange, [thanks Colin]). I never realized it but the bone is heavier than than the ebony wood. It makes it feel nicer in hand.
Also just received this Case mini Copperlock. Again, a really nice example. Single blade, 3 5/8" closed with no discernible faults. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

Looking good, Alan! It's interesting to compare the clip points of the Case and Northfield. Do you have a preference between the two blades?

Thanks guys. Shawn, you remind me of a professor I once had. He was never satisfied, always digging deeper. I guess that's why we were archaeologists, haha! Here's a photo of three similar sized, but different clip points. The somewhat funky Douk-Douk which when compared to the Case is actually more symmetrical. The GEC has less swoop to it and the Case looks almost like an old fashioned Cutlass, (not the Oldsmobile kind). I like the looks of a clip point, but I like it to be on the broader side, unlike a trapper model. I have not used either the Case or the GEC, but they both should prove to be quite useful.

Finally had a chance to take a look at some of the knives I picked up last weekend at a flee-market and found a gem in the mix!

The guy with the case of knives wasn't real happy to have me looking at everyone and wouldn't let me really look at this one before buying it so I grabbed a couple jacks and this one for 15 bucks...I wish I could sit and talk to the old boy that loved this knife!

Alan, very nice knives!
The mini copperlock was an all time favorite of mine. I had one in navy blue and it went everywhere with me. It was perfect for squirrel duty, as well as trout bellies. I lost it many moons ago and it is still one of my favorites to join the missing! That #66 is prime though!

Thanks JT, I just received it the other day and I'm really liking everything about it.

That's a good grouping to pick up. Wish there were decent flea markets around here to go "gold mining" :)

My wife reminds me what I call a flee market is a rather loose term, I'm told this place was an " antique mall" which I'm pretty sure means flee market in the redneck I speak!

Very nice. What is the handle material. I looks like the one I posted about and I almost think it's Bakelite ?

Bakelite was my guess as well. A good cleaning with WD-40 has it working quite well and most of the dirt is gone. Now I need to get rid of the rust.

Nice acquisition's everyone, love the Case Nut and Seahorse Harry.

This one came in yesterdays mail...

Thanks Paul !! You Beer Scout looks pretty good . Actually has a little more color in it than the one I have for one of my Son-in-laws .
I will post a picture of it after I get back home .
Take care my friend.

I do love my mailman! Another nice addition to my growing 303/EDC collection

My wife the collectors collector says " your not going to open that are you?" I said of course I am, it won't cut worth a darn in this package!
