Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Got a pair of AG Russell War Eagle folders for my wife and daughter to give me for my birthday. A 3 1/2" stockman and a 3 3/4" Copperhead. Blade steel is 7Cr17MoV, the Chinese equivalent of 440A, hardened to about 55HRC. A very traditional blade.

I find the stockman to be of particular interest. It has a slim clip blade which allows the sheepsfoot to be opened from the same side. So all three blades can be opened with my right thumb. I like that in a stockman. And they did it without the sheepsfoot sticking up so much that uncomfortable to use the other blades. They also managed to produce a stockman with zero blade rub. I like that part, too.

Nice knives with jigged bone handles.

It has been a busy couple of days for me. Quite a few trips to the mailbox. :)

First, a new stockman to match my UV Peanut.

Next, a 2015 forum knife.

Lastly, a Buck 501.

Ha, lol. So I'm not the only one who buys what he wants and gives it to the family to gift back to them in order to insure you get at least one thing you really want. Nice to know that's not weird, ('cause I do it too, otherwise I'll get socks for my birthday).

Thanks for the mini review of these AG Russell imports, I've been wondering whether they are as nice as they advertise them to be.

Fresh out of the Tube Gec#15 Beer Scout in charred Beer barrel oak #108 of 225 .

Also what's really cool is each one comes with a matching serialized key tag made from the barrel straps 👍

Those would put a smile in my heart, Frank! May your birthday be full of joy and laughter with your wife and daughter :D

I tried to resist this: missing sheath, missing the other half of the rear cutlery rivet, and now I think a bit of sharpening wear. But it's a nice handful, and it fits pretty well in a Schrade sheath I bought empty many years ago. I guess the 5303 on the brass is a serial number.

The 39-cent Fiskars is now making do with the sheath I made out of a discarded hippie purse in the mid seventies. (Not my own hippie purse, a friend's.)

Here ya go, Buck #322 Congress, Yellow Sawcut Delrin, (1995 SFO). Perfect unused condition, going into a display case with it's Black Sawcut brother.

Frank Nice arrangement on that Stockman, I too like a low riding Sheep, otherwise grip becomes problematic. Attractive bone on that and your pictures show a well finished knife. Good job AGR doesn't ship abroad as I'm low on funds what with Christmas looming....:D:eek::eek:

Thanks, Will

My Blue IRJ was desperate for a companion and I was lucky enough to add this gorgeous Indian River Jack to my collection today. Forgive the poor cell phone pics, the blade is reflecting a shadow and appears darker in the first picture.

I am glad you finally found your Tuna Gunstock John . Looks very good my friend .
Since you are looking for other Gunstocks : Have you seen the Chestnut Checkered Gunstocks that Case has now ??? In my opinion , they have the best shaped Gunstock other than the old Cattaraugus Gunstock .
I am going to send you an E-Mail .

Harry

Looks great John! I don't have a gunstock in stag yet, only ivory. I've been keeping my eye out for an attractive stag handled one, but you beat me to it  The hunt is 99% of the fun!

Netguy1999, my collection seems to have developed a hole...........Enjoy it my friend. I'll replace it in time, but I could tell you really genuinely needed one. This pic needs updated, but here are some of my gunstocks. Minus a Tuna Valley.....
