Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I did a trade with Crazy Canuck (Mike) a while back. This was waiting for me when I got home from the hospital yesterday. I've always wanted one and I couldn't be happier with this one. Case/Bose Norfolk. Such a quirky pattern, but it just works oh so perfect. Thin profile, sunken joints, a tight little clip secondary, the grinds, 154CM steel. Most of all, the size is perfect. I tried to like the Northwoods version, but it was just too small for me.
Thanks for the trade Mike. :D

nice to see youve made it home and opened your packages! nice knife, what a tiny clip!!!

Just got this in. From a fellow BF member who was willing to sell it to me. I missed them on the direct order. I like it, actually more than I thought I would even.

Nice Alan. IMO it's up there as one of the better yearly BF knives. Unfortunately I had to sell mine, but I see myself picking up a used one sometime in the future when funds allow.

This is my first GEC product. I'm liking it more every day. I'm not so into red, but it's a nice variety from my norm, and more of a highlight against the dark jigging anyway. Great in hand feel. Love the blade shape and thin grind. This is getting carried and used.

Good to see you here again Bob. Bob and Will, would the new 13 pattern in the clerk variant work for you as an alternative to a true Norfolk?
Alan, I was giving this a bit more thought and looking at some knives I have. Surprisingly the closest knife I found to the Case/Bose Norfolk was my Case XX Whittler. Very similar in many ways, yet different.

Thanks Bob

This is the only BF knife I have. Since I joined in 16, I figured it made sense. The quality is excellent. I was lucky to get this one after they sold out. I do see Forum knives for sale once in awhile.

They are very similar Bob. Thanks for pointing that out. That's a great looking profile on the Case. I'm still figuring out there a lot of reproduction patterns out there.

Lots to learn.

Certainly does, but I do wish GEC would release a single-spring Pen version with Clip master and Pen or Coping. Time will tell...

I think you will like the Red a lot as it naturally wears in your pocket .

Also that Northwoods Half Whittler as shown above is very similar.

Bob

I see that too. But I noticed now that I'm looking at your photos again, the Case XX has three blades. Two pens and a wharncliffe. I assume that makes it thicker than the Case/Bose Norfolk?

I found a C/B Norfolk for sale. I'm sorely tempted, but probably can't do that and the eureka this year. Can't have them all, I guess. Thanks my friend. You have enlightened me on patterns I did not think were made in modern times.

Oops. I answered a couple posts meant for joeradza. Well, how bad can that be right?.

Alan, the Case whittler is a split spring design. So the two secondary blades are on individual springs which taper down to the other end where the main blade utilizes both springs. The center liner acts as and is shaped in a wedge. Overall it's a very compact design and only very slightly thicker than the single spring Norfolk.
I can completely understand the need to prioritize the budget for upcoming knives. ;)

Should have this Phillip Patton EDC sized bowie by Friday.
