IMG_8091.JPG IMG_8093.JPG This was a really nice mail call. The TC is courtesy of a generous BF member. Very grateful he allowed me to strike a deal with him. The Ebony is from an authorised GEC dealer. The TC speaks for itself. But I'm astonished at the fit and finish and slender nature of the 78. Best to all. MJ.

Picked up a Mudbug and I'm very happy I did. Locks-up like a bank-vault and came nice and lean behind the edge, lean enough to have the edge bevels stay quite narrow even when I lowered the angle to 10 degrees per side (I use microbevels so I can get away with that).

Does it come with the EO notch?
and
Did you have to rework the swedge?

Yes, the Navy Knife comes with an EO notch. And yes, I applied those swedges. I tool the blade all the way down to the very bottom of the nail nick. The last remnant of the nick disappeared into the swedge.

He took the whole top of the blade off . . . the most ambitious redo I can remember!

Mr. Platen is my friend ;) Spines are a long straight piece of metal.

440C on a 150 grit belt is pretty close to factory finish. It makes 1095 look like Play Dough on the belts, too (so does S30V, but I expected that, didn't realize the 440 is so hard).

In my pursuit of Queen made knives, I just added this wonderful Railsplitter in Honey Corn Cob jigged bone covers. I was on the fence about the covers but they just kept calling to me. D2 steel, solid blades all in a hefty yet compact package. I love the knife:cool: It came as dull as a butter knife but with time and patience she is laser sharp now:thumbsup:

Very nice Paul! I had my eye on that same knife. Really unique covers. You did well! Congrats!

I like that one, Paul. Very nice jigging and color. Good looking shield too.
