I had an ebony 48 from the 14 run already. It was a gift. I’ll spare you the story but it is saved for my son. He is 1. Today, I got in the mail, a white acrylic 48 just like it. Same shield. Missing the threads in the bolster and the end bolster but otherwise very close. It’s much lighter pull. Now when he gets the ebony, I will have ivory to match.

Just got this “second” from @knifeswapper at collector knives. It came with a really strong caplifter pull and a very sluggish closing main blade, but after a good washing and lube the action is much better. The only flaws I can see are a small uneven part of the jigging on the pile side near the easy open notch and the fact that the caplifter isn’t flush with the backspring. Other than that the knife seems perfect.

I’m really glad to have gotten one of these after selling the maroon micarta I had in this same run. I really didn’t have a clue about traditional knives at the time and was put off by the small rust spots I saw developing. Since joining Blade Forums I’ve learned better what to expect and how to care for carbon steel slip joints, and I’m having way too much fun with this “hobby.” Now I’ve got to sell another knife to pay for this one!

Very cool SVTFreak. :cool::thumbsup:

Bought this last week when we were in Tennessee . Have waited to get some good pictures taken . GEC Northfield 43 Orange Camel Bone or commonly called Creamcicle . The colors in the pictures are pretty close to the actual .

This knife came in today from Mike at Collector Knives. This Case SS 6347 with Rogers Walnut Bone covers is superb. She has no chips, cracks, gaps, drips, runs, or errors and it has great walk and talk with plenty of snap. It has ringed bolsters which is a nice touch for a Case knife. There is virtually no underblading and the joints are almost completely sunken. The fit and finish is superb. Like the Case Sowbelly I got from Mike the other day, it matches anything that has come from GEC. Further, it's 3 7/8" closed length will make it very pocket friendly.

You know - I gotta say here that Case does a very good job polishing their knives. They are head and shoulders above GEC.

Three weeks later:

This is the Case SS 6347 jigged Walnut Bone Stockman. When I got it, the blades, bolsters, and covers were highly polished as are most Case SS knives. I don't particularly like a mirror, shiny, finish so, I've been carrying this knife in one pocket or another with extra change or keys and as a finale, I buffed the covers and bolsters with a Scotch-Brite pad. I'm finally satisfied with the dulled look of the knife. The shiny has been knocked right off it and and it's been honed to a sharp, rough, grabby, edge so it's ready to put to use.

Looks good, Ed. I've had my eye on that series. Really good looking knives. Thanks for the review. I think I need to try one.
