Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

This T.B. 6339 SS 2001 manufactured Case SS Sowbelly with Pocket Worn Black Bone covers came in yesterday's afternoon mail from Steve Pfeiffer. I gave it a good going over and there are no cracks, chips, gaps, drips, runs, or errors. There is virtually no underblading and the joints are almost completely sunken. The fit and finish is excellent. I like the Pocket Worn Black Bone covers. 2001 was the first year Case produced the Sowbelly.

Another beauty, ED, you always score the best bone! Grey knives usually leave me cold, but the coloration on that one is terrific!

I agree. The Grey color on that one is very attractive. Both pretty and rugged at the same time. A very good looking knife, ED.

Thanks guys. I've got another Yellow Composite Sowbelly coming but it is CV instead of SS.

I went through a faze of collecting the black bone Case knives, but none of mine were that nice! Love the sowbellys you’ve been getting.

So there I was, the 4th of July sitting in an old car getting ready to drive in a parade. An alert comes across my phone from the BF Traditional classifieds that @Kiro had put up a 77 in Linen Micarta for sale....and here it is...

Ever since I sold the denim fayette jack, I've had a hankering to get one back. I ended up selling a couple of my larger GECs to fund this one, which I got for a lot better deal than I was seeing on the Bay. I think this one will pair nicely with the new black linen boys knife I picked up.

Nice, Joshua! I know the feeling, I have been through so many knives over the past three years, that it's down right shameful.
Gave a lot away last Christmas and sold a few too. I'm just now starting to get and hold onto the knives I want though. Still looking for a TC Ancient Scratted bone, but I was able to score the newer Ancient muscadine however. Just having way too much fun these days! That's a great looking Northwoods you have!

Thanks! I've made this year an experiment year--trying to buy a lot of variety of GEC patterns and then selling them, just to get an idea of what suits me (I don't have a GEC dealer near me). The denim fayette I bought almost by accident, because I got interested in the craziness of trying to see if I could snag one--I hadn't really thought about a dogleg pattern at all. When I got it in hand I really liked it, but then it was one of the first knives I bought to try and then sell, so I couldn't justify keeping it yet. Now that I've cycled through a dozen or so more patterns, I really think it will be one I keep. I've had my eye out for awhile, but just could find one close to the original price I paid. This one finally was in range. Plus, ever since Derrick Bone died, I've wanted to get another Northwoods.

I also understand how you feel about the scratted bone Ancient--that one just has really awesome looking covers, and I love that coping/sheepfoot shaped blade.

Yep, it's a honey and I should've bought it at the time that they first came out, but it was falling right around the time of the OKCA show. I had a set amount for that show and knew I would be buying some TCs from Charlie, there. Unfortunately he had none of the Scratteds at the show so I bought other TCs that were equally hard to find. Then later I had others I wanted and figured one day I would run into one but it seems folks are holding on to them now. I did just score, in a trade, a Fremont Jack in sambar stag. Very happy to get one that has decent walk and talk. And beautiful covers!

Nice set of sowbellies. I see that sometime between 2001 and 2016 the nail nick on the sheepsfoot was moved to the mark side, allowing all three blades to be opened with the same nail. That's actually one of the features I like about the current Case sowbelly design. I also like the fact that the current design uses offset blades in stead of crinking the sheepsfoot in order to get three blades on two springs. Are the blades on the 2001 offset, or did they crink the sheepsfoot?
