• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I've been admiring the Buck 500-series knives for a while and found this 503 Prince at a local sporting goods store yesterday. It has nickle silver bolsters and "rosewood" Dymondwood covers. The pocket slip is a Case suede slip with Velcro closure. I believe these are discontinued, but I found a five-pack of them recently at a big knife store about 50 miles from here.

I bought these Wednesday. If the guy hadn't given me a bulk discount, I'd have had to choose one to take or one to leave, and I'd have been wrong.

I might have left the Utica jack because of the wear and the bent liner, or I might have left the Kent stockman because it doesn't have a sheepsfoot and because it's a bargain brand. I would have taken the HSB EO because it's extra fancy and a rarer pattern.

After carrying all three of them, I put the HSB out of my pocket first. It's just awfully bulbous to carry (especially with two other full-sized knives, to be fair).
The one I thought the least of is the one that's still in my pocket. Made for Woolworth's or not, it's very well made and a lot of blade in a slim package.
