It is American Chestnut. I thought it was a great example, but I have been even more impressed since seeing some of the others that have come out, which are much darker with less contrast.

Thank you Rick. I was following Manny's build on this and couldn't resist. It's so well built. Kinda unreal honestly that this is his first 3 blade build for the level of fit and finish here.

So my boss and the other 2 ladies I work with went to a separate job from me yesterday. They trashed out a foreclosure, well today I asked my boss " find any old knives?" To which she answered "maybe". Lol, anyways this evening she hands me this say'n "its really rusty and I don't know what kind it is" once I got it open I was like "Wow, its a Queen!" Got it cleaned up pretty good and sharpened. Its seen a bench grinder , I reprofiled the edge a little to get some of the recurve outta it. She'll make a good user now. Only downside the main blade spring is weaker than I'd like, but its ok.

These two are my most recent pickups. This is my first peachseed 15 and my third TC. I’ve been craving one of these bad boys since I got into slipjoints and I am just so thrilled with it.

The Spartan, well I had one when I was about 13 in the Boy Scouts until I lost it, and I haven’t had an SAK since. Oddly enough, I’ve been enjoying it just as much, if not more than anything else in my collection.

New 'Rat

I've fondled this one in the store so many times I almost felt obligated to buy it. 2008 Schatt & Morgan [improved or Hawbaker] muskrat in Fireoak bone, 1 of 100. I found a post from November 2008 that was written just after these knives were released:

I've long been attracted to the muskrat pattern but, like many, didn't care for the identical blades. Still, the size, heft, and the "exotic" Turkish/California clip makes for an attractive knife. Swap one blade for a Wharncliffe (almost a lambsfoot in this case) and you've got a real winner. The S&M Fireoak bone is intensely red and really lights up in the sun. I'm having trouble putting this one down!

Can't beat a classic Case medium stockman in CV...
I dropped the kick on the sheepsfoot, put a keen edge on the blades, and put a drop of oil in the joints.
