When elk was chosen I completely lost interest but this one here is the nicest one I've seen so far. Looks like you got the gem of the lot!

For an untrained eye, this has to be one of the nicest ones i've seen.:thumbsup:
I happened to run into a guy at work who got one of the new forum knives. He let me take it for a spin. It's very well put together; nice walk and talk. The elk covers are beautiful, as are the bolsters. Nice fit n finish. I hesitated handing it back.

While enroute to the King Ranch in south Texas a couple weeks ago I stopped off in Kingsville to the King Ranch Saddle shop and bought one of these Queen made Moore Maker jumbo stockman just as a momento/collectible. Lo and behold it’s the best fitting stockman my hand has ever held, I loved it in hand, needed to be sharpened so I put on the back burner as I am in the middle of a move.
So the other day I was needing some things while prepping the new house and decided to stop into the local small town feed store just to see if that had any of the things I needed (the fact they had a big Case knife sign in the window had nary a thing to do with the stop). Well, they had the biggest selection of Moore Maker knives I’d seen in a long time. And they had the jumbo stockman sans King Ranch Branding. I refrained, but today I gave in while doing yet more work. Touched up the edge and it will be in my pocket for a bit. Until the next one comes along..... maybe longer.

Good-looking stockman. The Saddle Shop also stocks (no pun intended) some Case knives with the Running W brand that are pretty nice.

The Ebony TC Barlow that I won in @chiefs Good Deeds Giveaway came in today. It's a beautiful knife and I can not thank him enough for holding such a generous giveaway. The photo is of my Daughter and I holding it, without her big heart i would not have won. This is now a family heirloom and one day it will be hers.
They don't get any better than that. Congratulations on your win and what a wonderful photo.

John Lloyd Amber Stag Sowbelly at 3 3/4".
Eventually you run out of superlatives. Congrats Alan, just wonderful.

They sure do Vince. It was a tough decision. The fact they probably won’t be getting anymore Queen made Moore Makers was the deciding factor.

Josh, I have an older one myself, and although I don't carry it too often, I would hate to part with it.

From 2002, in burnt white jigged bone.

Came home to find a new Bull Nose in my mailbox, which was a huge surprise as I've not ordered one:eek: A note wrapped around the tube soon set things straight, I've been a victim of more of the famous porch generosity! I couldn't be more happy:D my first GEC! Sodbuster type patterns have always been a favorite of mine:thumbsup: I'm pretty sure the sender wouldn't want me to make a big fuss, so I'll just say Thank you my friend, this will be a treasured gift.
Sorry for the poor pics, to excited to wait for better light lol

Really big congratulations on your first GEC (crack for knife guys) and more generosity shown by the giver here on the porch!!

That's a memorable one, Dwight!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I think Ted @T. Erdelyi has one just like that, and at some point wrote up a cool history of the gravel company advertised!:cool::cool:

Picked up this used GEC #48 in Blueberry Jigged Bone for about half of the retail price. I love a bargain!!!
Congrats, John!:cool::thumbsup: How does that single-blade #48 compare to a Case slimline trapper??

GEC only made 13 of the 2007 Cuban Stockmen in pond bone, and I already had a minty one for my collection.
This well used one popped up on my radar, and I scooped it up for a very reasonable price for a user.

Thanks GT. You are correct about Ted owning one. That is where I first saw it and this one was the only other one I've seen. I was very happy to be able to secure it and I was able to download the history that you are referencing. :)

On Black Friday, I ordered quite a few knives that I've been gradually accumulating on my wish lists at various dealers; seems to be becoming a tradition with me. I'm not the world's best nor fastest photographer/photo processor, but I hope to post some of my new knives here over the next couple of weeks. I'm kind of thinking of them as birthday/Christmas presents, and have asked my family not to get me anything else (except maybe a big pot of home-made chili containing BOTH meat (likely ground turkey) AND beans ;)).

This Case Blackhorn was one of my Black Friday deals. First impressions: small, light-weight, useful linerless lockback.

I also ordered an Imperial cracked ice sowbelly stockman. Really enjoy the way that pattern feels in hand and in pocket, and I have several Chinese Imperials that have suspiciously low prices and unbelievably solid construction!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: I don't see how they can do it (unless there's something really undesirable about the steel quality that I'm missing so far). The covers on this one are incredibly attractive to me; for the first time, I can see why "cracked ice" used to be such a popular handle choice.
