Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Congrats, John!:cool::thumbsup: How does that single-blade #48 compare to a Case slimline trapper??
I've never had a Case Slimline Trapper. But I do wish GEC would do a 3.5" version of this knife. It's such a great knife but just a tad too long for my likes. But I'm glad I have one.

On Black Friday, I ordered quite a few knives that I've been gradually accumulating on my wish lists at various dealers; seems to be becoming a tradition with me. I'm not the world's best nor fastest photographer/photo processor, but I hope to post some of my new knives here over the next couple of weeks. I'm kind of thinking of them as birthday/Christmas presents, and have asked my family not to get me anything else (except maybe a big pot of home-made chili containing BOTH meat (likely ground turkey) AND beans ;)).

This Case Blackhorn was one of my Black Friday deals. First impressions: small, light-weight, useful linerless lockback.

I also ordered an Imperial cracked ice sowbelly stockman. Really enjoy the way that pattern feels in hand and in pocket, and I have several Chinese Imperials that have suspiciously low prices and unbelievably solid construction!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: I don't see how they can do it (unless there's something really undesirable about the steel quality that I'm missing so far). The covers on this one are incredibly attractive to me; for the first time, I can see why "cracked ice" used to be such a popular handle choice.

Nice Yin/Yang score you got there!

Click the link below for some history on the knife. Mine was from PA but identical in every other way. In researching the knife it was the internet that enabled me to put a date on the knife after 20 years. Turns out it’s over 100 years old. Great find, great history great knife.

Good Roads History.
Your earlier posts concerning this knife are what set me on the hunt for this one. I downloaded all of the history you provided some time ago. But thank you very much for making sure I am aware of it. Advertising and souvenir knives are especially appealing to me. :) Thank you again!

Fresh out of the mail box :D

John, have you ever seen GEC's Farm Boy pattern? I have no idea how hard to find they are. But they remind me of a mini trapper in having equal-sized clip and spey blades in a 3.5" knife. (I've noticed that you seem to prefer a single wharncliffe, though. ;)) But it's built on the 15 frame, so the handle shape doesn't have the standard curve characteristic of trappers.

I've only seen pictures of the Farm Boy and it looks like a wonderful knife. I like the size and the blade selection. I do prefer a 3.5" single blade knife but I will often carry two blade knives and knives up to 3.75". Anything bigger gets used in the kitchen or rides in my Jeep. My newly acquired GEC Oregon Trapper is a perfect example. It's just too big for me to carry but I love it. So, the #43 rides in my Jeep bag for any hard task I may run across while four wheeling.

Here is a new laguiole style knife made by Renaud Aubrey of Artisan Coutelier. Handles are juniper.

A very fine knife, with 14C28N steel which he makes available on special order.

I also ordered a few extras items. The sheath is quite nice and allows horizontal carry as well as vertical. The sharpening stone with leather strop is also very nice.

I'm probably way more excited about this than I should be. I've been trying to hunt down a Case knife with a wood handle for a while now. Everything is either highly collectable and old, so way out of my price range, or a Bose colab, also way out of my price range. So I am so excited to get a wood handled Case in my third favorite Case pattern, the Peanut. This is the seller's pic, I'll get some better ones when I receive it. Just couldn't wait to share with y'all... My new Case Peanut in Cocobolo Wood
