Nice Yin/Yang score you got there!
Thanks, mitch. :)

Here's another of my Black Friday knives. It's an XYZ Brand canoe with an "America's Trades" blade etch and a "Handyman Club of America" shield (and "HCOA LTD" tang stamp); ironically, the bottom of the box announces that the knife is "Handcrafted in China". ;) Very inexpensive (under $7, although that's a couple of dollars more than the knife used to sell for) canoe with fancy packaging, and attractive satin finish on the blades, and simple but IMHO attractive jigging on the bone covers. MUCH better knife than I was expecting from a low-priced offering from an unknown maker!:cool::thumbsup:

It's always nice to have an unexpected surprise of quality in something. Nice Black Friday score!

Beautiful covers on that knife.

I mentioned it in the Guardian thread, but it's worth saying again: That's a very classy looking Lambsfoot.

Here is a new laguiole style knife made by Renaud Aubrey of Artisan Coutelier. Handles are juniper.

A very fine knife, with 14C28N steel which he makes available on special order.

I also ordered a few extras items. The sheath is quite nice and allows horizontal carry as well as vertical. The sharpening stone with leather strop is also very nice.

beautiful laguiloe!

This 2018 Case TB3139 Stonewash CV, single blade Sowbelly with yellow composite covers arrived yesterday. If the blade seems dark in the pictures, it is because Case did a Stonewash Treatment to the blade making it dark. This is not done by a chemical treatment but rather a tumbling method as per the Case website although I think there must be a skosch of some chemical in the tumbling medium. The knife is very thin as one spring and liner have been deleted to make it a single blade knife vs. a three blade knife. The fit and finish on this knife is very good. Anyway, I couldn't pass it up as it is a single blade and on top of that it has classic yellow covers. What more could anyone want?

I'm probably way more excited about this than I should be. I've been trying to hunt down a Case knife with a wood handle for a while now. Everything is either highly collectable and old, so way out of my price range, or a Bose colab, also way out of my price range. So I am so excited to get a wood handled Case in my third favorite Case pattern, the Peanut. This is the seller's pic, I'll get some better ones when I receive it. Just couldn't wait to share with y'all... My new Case Peanut in Cocobolo Wood

Congrats on the wood-clad Peanut, John!:thumbsup::thumbsup: I always carry some version of a small peanut-ish knife, including actual Case Peanuts with Delrin, chestnut jigged bone, and stag covers. I'll have to keep an eye out for a wood Peanut now!

The thing that I like best about yours above is that we're now "serial # brothers", since I have an I*XL Schrade Wostenholm canoe with the same serial number (by coincidence, it's the "fancy canoe" I've been carrying since last Monday):

(That number happens to be my birthdate - NOT year, but date in DDMM format ).

Thanks, guys. :) I like the color of the bone, and the simple parallel scratches for jigging; GEC has cougar clawed bone, and I'm going to call the jigging on my America's Trades canoe "hamster clawed bone"! ;):D

Yes! I knew we had to be related somehow :D

Nice haul, Lance.

To the best of my knowledge, the 1927 etch commemorates the year that Sears started selling Craftsman tools. The WLS etch stands for "Worlds Largest Store" and was later used as the call letters for the WLS radio station in Chicago which was started by Sears.

I believe the knife was manufactured around 1975 or it might be a 50th year anniversary knife from 1977.

Thanks Rick! Good info, I appreciate it!

3 good looking knives, especially like the Craftsman!
Thanks, the blades appear to still have the factory edges. I believe it was made by Schrade, but I’m not sure. It has great W&T, and the blades are all tight.
