Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

Just great old knives, in your glove box / console, emergency kit, camping gear / trailer or just for the collection! Great price usually. I need to pick up a couple more.

Yes! A must have for those that wander! The first one stays in the the dog's "supply" bag, it is the can opener to end all can openers! and slices what he may need sliced. I got that one in and carried it during Desert Storm. Got's history! :D1990 Camillus with sheath.jpg

The Iwo one comes out of the box maybe once every couple of years, yes, it's a safe queen, no denying it.

The Marbles is something I saw online and thought, lets see what it is all about - far as I can tell, aside from saying China on the back side of the blade, The blades are all the same shape and everything feels good. And I like the serrated nail nics.

The Marbles is the newer addition BTW.

.

I’ve had the extreme honor of going to the island of Iwo Jima, an experience I’ll never forget. But you can’t just show the box, gotta see the knife too even if it looks like every other one out there. Just curious when that one was offered?

Found a small antique mall not 20 minutes from the house. Several booths with few knives, many not anything to get excited over. But one booth, oh boy! A whole bunch of traditionals from Rough Rider and Steel Warrior on up to new and vintage Case, Camillus, even a MOP Bulldog brand stockman. Vintage clamshells, Queen and I don't know what else lol. But this big Camillus 23 in MOP caught my eye, and I had to take it home. I left wishing I had more "extra" funds on me. But its ok, another treasure trove to pick over when I get the chance. This 23 is unused, factory grind until I got home;). Was a tad bit of rust on the edge at the belly, and a spot on the pile side of the main right at the tang. I noticed there are no pins in the covers, I assume they're glued on, and assume they're factory, but not sure. Any Camillus experts want to chime in feel free:thumbsup:. Now I know why everyone says MOP is hard to photograph, I bet I took 20 pics before I got some I liked:rolleyes:

Le Roquefort arrived yesterday it took a bit over a month from the time I ordered it until it arrived 5 days of that was shipping so I assume they are built/assembled on order.

The file work is nice and everything fits like it should and it appears to have the same stock thickness as my Endura.

What's neat about it though is unlike a normal slipjoint where the spring contacts a flat part of the tang this interfaces like a lock back with the back side ramped a bit.

I think it's a keeper and worth the ~$90 shipped now I need a Lannier not so serious punk, hopefully I can get one in person when I'm in Germany again in April

That is really nice, David!

I could have sworn its horn.
China actually has the most sheep ...thats right...even more than my mates the kiwis.
I have a Chinese Klaas mini toothpick somewhere with very nice rams horn scales and it was less than 20bux.

I guess it's possible, and I can definitely be wrong, it happens often ;) .

Hmm. The more I think of it, I remember thst horn has a linear grain... horn is like a layered mass, it grows/forms much like a mass of hair would, a fine fibrous grain. I wonder if I could sand this some and see the grain... Wish I had an eye loupe.

Meh. Doesn't matter much I guess. Either way, it's nice stuff on these knives!

Nice haul.
It's neat how you seem to be just "stumbling" onto these second-hand knife shops.
I think the knife gods are leading you around :)
It's pretty cool and inspires me to poke around:thumbsup:
Nice pics, too btw

Ok, ok. Just for you 315 315 . Well, me too! It's not got a high polish, still has the lube it was shipped with on it, though I wiped off a bit that had browned. This one was born in 1998. Of anything I have that can be called a "safe queen" (and I don't normally do SQs) this particular knife and two Desert Storm Case commemoratives would be the last ones I would use or carry.

Got what is likely one of the last Queen’s. A Schatt & Morgan #29. I have hear issues about the fit and finish on a lot of the end of queens production, but I’d give this one a solid 8.5/10. Blade centering, stiffness, Not perfect but no issues big enough to bother me. It’s gonna be a user anyway!
