Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

First knife of the new year... well, first I've purchased anyway. ;)

3.5" Rough Rider half stockman.

Been trying to find basically this knife for a while, in any brand, new or vintage...( between 3 1/4" and 3 5/8", 2 blades on opposite ends, stockman frame, single spring if possible... want clip and sheepsfoot. This is clip and a spey, that will soon be a sheepsfoot ;) :D )

Been trying for a Case mini muskrat to mod, but they're like platinum hens teeth right now...

There are other options, but I refuse to pay over a certain amount for a production knife... They're not worth it. (looking at you GEC)

Anyway, this is close enough for now! Might even turn out to be perfect and end the search.

Seen them in other recent RR runs, but once I saw it in the rams horn bone I couldn't pass it up anymore. Gorgeous stuff!

Yeah, I'm in a talkative mood... I'll shut up and post a pic... haha.

Fits great, good walk and talk, just a really nice knife.

Only thing off, is the end of the main blade on the mark side. It's like it wasn't covered when they polished it. Or it wasn't masked when they did the frosting effect for the blade etch-- guess that's more likely. It's just on that side, not the other.

Doesn't matter, it's a user, it's just weird!
Rams Horn 'bone'... that's funny:) Must have been lost in translation.
Is it Horn or is it Bone?

The #21 Bull Buster is my first (though I've owned several #71 Bull Noses, one of my favorite GEC patterns). The Bull Buster is definitely bigger than the Bull Nose! It's a pretty substantial knife. :D I've got another in OD Green Linen Micarta on its way, as well. I was a bit disappointed that they didn't offer a better variety of handle materials on this run; even one or two more interesting Micartas would have been nice.

The Maserin Plow was a gift from @r redden. Randy, thank you so much, my friend!  Randy had actually told me that he wanted to send me a knife, and wanted me choose one for myself, so this is what I went for. I have a Plow from the first run Mike did (in Bocote), and I've been really happy with that knife, even though the fit and finish left a bit to be desired. I wasn't sure about this new run, because I don't really like the Torx screw construction, but Mike had said that the F&F were much better on these, so I figured I ought to try one out. The improvement in F&F really is a big improvement! No gaps, better action and a solid half stop. I also really like the bleached canvas Micarta. If only this knife had the birdseye pivot and pin construction like the first run, it'd be perfect! :D

Here's another big knife that showed up earlier this week. My first Northwoods.

It's bone. :) Its just jigged and dyed to look like well aged rams horn. Real sheep/ram horn costs a fortune, not going to find it on a Rough Rider.
I could have sworn its horn.
China actually has the most sheep ...thats right...even more than my mates the kiwis.
I have a Chinese Klaas mini toothpick somewhere with very nice rams horn scales and it was less than 20bux.

Picked these up today at our local knife show, a custom from a Missouri knife maker and a pre 1940 Camillus, or so the seller says, I am not an expert.

The custom fixed blade is 1095, about 6 inches in total length, with a full convex grind. I am not crazy about the handle color, and after speaking with the maker, am going to have another made with white G10.

Those go together like peas and carrots
Nice picture.

Good stuff Tom and Jeff. That little breakfast get together before the show was a lot of fun. I enjoyed the conversation and the company.

I bought this 1978 Queen #10 Jack and Scott (pearl2291) picked up this Victorinox Cub Scout Pocket Pal for me. Thanks again Scott. That was very nice of you and I appreciate it.

I added a few I found on the big auction site. The two Ulster knives came together. The Scout really needs a good cleaning but it’s a very serviceable knife, but I really bought them for the Washington Apple knife. Since I’ve lived here for 27 years I’m probably considered a resident now....

I also picked up another Frontier advertising knife. I’m not a Ford guy but for some reason it appealed to me.

I added a couple of Case knives at the same show with Tom S. My photos aren't as good as his, but the knives are great, and we had a fine morning, knifing!

I've said it before but that mini copperlock could easily be the only knife I'd ever need. It ticks all the boxes as to size, blade, and looks. If only I took my own advice, hahaha.
