I kept seeing people posting and I had to get one...plus if these aren't made again I have two now. It's probably my most carried knife.

I had a maroon one from 2017(?)--the first slip joint I got when I began rediscovering traditionals. I sold it long ago and then tried again for a golden jigged bone. I ended up selling it too. I'm not a big fan of bails and EO notches, but Beer Scouts have a significant cool factor.

That's breathtaking. Such long clean lines on that model, and the figuring on the covers compliments them perfectly. I'm not normally the biggest hotdog shield fan, but it's absolutely perfect on that knife.
Thanks Buzz! :) I think the Hotdog shield catches a lot of grief! It actually can be a very attractive shield on certain knives!

Michael May from Sheffield. Hand forged blade with Padauk covers.

Very nice! I have one on order from him and absolutely can't wait. It'll be my first Sheffield knife and my first lambsfoot. :)

To stay on topic, this is my newest, although it's not all that new. Bought it a couple of months ago on the exchange and it hasn't left my pocket since. Smooth, easy opening, stainless steel blade and a lock = fantastic combo.

Thank you and best wishes.

Picked up a 1979 Case Barlow with saw cut bone scales and a brown jigged bone two blade GEC #14 today. Been wanting the GEC since they came out with the two blade with a clip blade version. I resisted purchasing other slip joints at the Dalton GA show. I spent a couple hours there and left so I couldn't spend any more money. I enjoyed the show, but I just didn't want to hang around teasing myself. Lots of slippies there. Lots.

The barlow is nice but shows a little pocket wear. Blades appear like they have never been sharpened. This is essentially "the knife" I grew up with although I grew up prior to 1979. Blades nicely centered with a healthy snap you seldom see on current production.

Looks like someone been shopping:)
So what's in the bag?

Well, there's this really nice Western 062, I've been eyeballing Case's folding hunter, but to be honest the saber grind on their new ones leave me cold. This Western however I love the blade profiles and nail nick location. Excellent walk'n'talk on this one.
I can hear you ask what else I see in there? o_O

How about a Kutmaster equal end jack? This is a good ol knife here imo. Snaps open and closed with authority:thumbsup: Main is a bit stiff opening, but it feels more like needs a flush than to strong a spring stiff. I've not cleaned and flush these yet.
Ok ,ok, your saying, but what's that weird little guy with a bail?

Well that would be a Klein tools EO, linerlock. My Google-fu tells me its what they call a coping knife:thumbsup:. Really good walk'n'talk with half stop. Its unused, probably due to the only downside it has. The edge bevels are wonky. The pile side grind gets narrower towards the tip and stops 1/16 (1.5mm) from the end leaving it only beveled on one side like a blunt chisel:eek:
Other than that its a pretty good little knife. I think once I get the edge straightened out it'll be a good worker.
Finally group shot:thumbsup:

I hope you enjoyed this episode of -Hillbilly at the antique mall- tune in next week to hear the crusty old man behind the knife counter say: "HEY big man! Let me hold a dollar!!" :D:thumbsup:
