Yeah, I'm gonna have to get one of those.:thumbsup:
It is always hard to know what to expect from a knife you've only seen and a maker you've never tried before--especially when the price is higher than you might normally pay, but the recommendations were solid for this company. The action surprised me and caught me off guard, and I accidentally let the blade snap closed, which allowed the blade to hit the back spring near the tip, so it is definitely one you want to close like a gentleman. But everything about it is well made.

Edit: As I was typing this I paused to close the knife and pushed the blade from the open position with my thumb. It went right past the half-stop and into my index finger. Ouch! It is a deep one, but very clean. Man, I'm an idiot.

I suspect it's not a real half-stop. Be careful! And don't be closing knives while you're typing! ;):p

It isn't. Just a notched spring with a cam tang. It closed hard, too. I didn't check to see how deep because it was bleeding a lot, but there isn't much meat on the top of the finger, so I wouldn't be surprised if the bone was what stopped it. Some fools have to learn the hard way.

I'm pretty foolish sometimes! :D

Recently got a message from Charlie waynorth waynorth that he needed my address. The first thought that entered my mind was “wow” Charlie is sending me something. When I opened the package I thought how did he know how much I like chocolate and how did he get it here without it melting. Upon opening the box were two excellent examples from a Girl Scout Mess Kit. A gift is always appreciated and doubly so when someone makes the effort to understand where your collecting heart is. Thanks again my friend.205F12D1-C1CF-4CF7-AFD2-14A95A033B57.jpeg08883565-56F2-4039-9498-CFD0D90D367F.jpeg

Very generous gift:thumbsup: and you got a knife and fork to go along with it:D

This has been a good week knife wise. I had purchased a collection of 5 Buck 302's (which I posted in the dedicated Buck forum) and they showed up yesterday :)

THEN this Remington R1615 Fisherman showed up today. This one has a story. First, the seller sent the wrong knife  I contacted him and he said he'd mail the right knife out and include a postpaid envelope to return the other one  Ok says I, I'll be out of town next week, it should be here waiting on me, I'll take care of it when I get back. I get back and no knife waiting on me :( He hasn't mailed it yet. Ok, I have the other Remington which is actually worth more, so I'm in no hurry and neither, apparently, is he. He mails it a couple of days later.

Unfortunately he doesn't take the Remington I have in my possession down from the website, and somebody else buys it. For Father's Day. And he wants me to mail it to the new buyer o_O

Meanwhile the knife he mailed me hasn't shown up, is overdue, and now the USPS tracking just states there isn't any information available

I dick around a couple of days and it still doesn't show up and Post Office ain't talkin'

Finally I do my good deed for the week and ship the knife I do have to the new owner at my expense

Tracking indicates it will be delivered today, before Father's Day. I feel good :)

Then, when all seemed lost and the project doomed to failure, the knife I originally purchased about a month ago shows up unannounced with no fanfare! The peasants rejoice :D:D

After all that, I give you a Candy Stripe Remington Fisherman, circa 1988, in all its glory :p
