I was thinking about buying a tidioute Congress. One retailer has it listed at $89, another has it listed at $158. I’m unsure what the huge price difference is due to. Both are the same knife. I’m looking for some guidance in this.

Are you talking about one of the #62 Easy Pocket Congress knives? I've seen some of those going for around $90. That's what they should be selling for, unless it's a more rare variation.... which one are you looking at?

Yeah that’s the one. And you’re right, average pricing is about $90, this other place is gouging.

I think you would really like the #62. I usually carry 3 or 4 knives in the cargo pants, and a 62 is usually one of them. Great knives.

I just picked up two Case knives. My first Case in over a decade. (Had to make up for missing out on the GEC 74 in black plum. Still bummed about that.) A single blade barlow in smooth white bone and sway back in chestnut bone CV. Both excellent knives. The blade on the sway back moves from side to side when closed but is tight when open. Other than that just about perfect fit and finish. The chestnut bone is nice. The barlow is excellent. Again, almost perfect fit and finish, blade dead center, and great walk and talk. The blade just snaps into all positions. The smooth white bone with no shield is classy. Overall, I am impressed with the quality and couldn't be more pleased. I took a gamble on Case and it really paid off. I'll be back for more.

I really like the barlow, when you get a good Case, they are good. Well done and enjoy 'em.

That's been my experience this week. Two knives. Two different major dealers. Both top quality. It makes me wonder if Case is selective about what they send to what dealer? These are certainly nicer than what I see locally. Maybe I just lucked out. Anyway, I'll take it and enjoy.

Got to open a surprise package from paulhilborn upon arriving home from a week away. Paul reached out on the porch and asked if he could gift me a vintage knife, a very kind offer that I couldn't refuse no doubt. Well that scoundrel sent two knives. Both knives are quite nice in great patterns with that cool aged bone that screams vintage and very good blade action and keen edges. Voos bareheaded with that pocket worn bone that shows character and a Camillus with an equal amount of character in blades and bone. Many thanks Paul for you're kindness and generosity.

I sold a few Hinderers and picked these up the last month or so. Besides the tip of the shown Case blade being about as pointy as a butter knife I’ve been very pleased. I just ordered the 50 grit stone for my KME and am going to try re-profiling it (after practicing of course).

New stag in the house. I bought this 33 because the stag is so dark. Different than most of the other offerings from GEC. Next to my new 74, you can see what I mean. The 74 is what i have come to expect. Beautiful !
Earlier I got this 62 because of the battle scars and scratches. One of the reasons I like Stag. So much diversity.
