It took me a while to decide between rosewood and olive handles when I got a Setter recently. Decided on rosewood, and liked it so well I got an olive to go with it.

Case medium CV stockman with punch came today. Nice covers and snappy blades with pulls in the 4-5 range. No major gaps in the back springs but there is some blade rub on the pile side of the sheep’s foot and punch. Overall I’m pleased with her.

I picked up another victorinox pioneer, cause it was just 22 bucks. Seems brand new to me.

I bought a Mora Woodcarving knife. Made my first spoon using it. I am really impressed about the laminated steel blade. It's really good for the 15 euro price. Even though I don't use secondary or micro bevels, the edge doesn't chip or roll. The blade stays a long time and is really easy to sharpen.

I have been looking at LT Wright fixed blades for a while now, finally ordered one. It's the Bandit with blaze orange micarta, and AEB-L steel .It's even better than I expected. Shown with a bullnose for scale.

One of my latest knives a 2021 Case SS Sod Buster Jr. with black composite covers. Notice I said/typed 2021 and according to the label on the box (1/29/21) it is but the tang stamp on the knife's tang (10-dots) indicates it's a 2020 build. It just illustrates what Mike knifeswapper from Collector Knives has pointed out in the past - Case will continue to use previous years tang stamped blades until they are used up - waste not want not so to speak. So, what year is this knife from? 2020 as indicated by the tang stamp or 2021 as indicated by the box label? This is a good example of why dating by tang stamps should be done tongue-in-cheek so to speak.
