I broke down (they had a sale..

) and got me a stoner knife. They call it a stag.... I'm pretty sure it's elk... "American Stag"...
Anyway, it's their big trapper, one of their "EDC" versions, which is their nomenclature for "second"...
It has some issues, but overall it's a pretty nice knife, especially for right at $50.... I would class this one as slightly above Bear and Son, and a little below Case in fit/finish. It is 440-something steel... probably 440A.
The edge grinds are surprisingly even... not quite out to the edge, but the blades are still "working sharp" out of the box. Blade centering is excellent.
There is a pretty visible gap at the mainspring, and the elk panels have slight gaps at the bolsters. The open/close is just ok. The clip blade is mushy just as it goes fully open. Both blades have a slightly gritty feel when pivoting.... perhaps more flushing will get rid of that.
The worst of it, I suppose, is that the spring for the clip blade is proud when the blade is closed. This is probably what moved it to the EDC bin....
All that said, it is a pretty knife (except for that trashy shield), and feels pretty good, in hand. I was afraid it would feel "clunky", but it doesn't... here's a few pics of my "Weed" knife....
