Thank you. I agree. It looks like Thuya Burl to me. Nice knife!
Absolutely beautiful John! Well done “you know who you are!”I just received this gift from a very generous Porch Member, who wishes to stay anonymous.
I can't even begin to say how excited I am to have this knife, it's not only a great knife but it's filled with wonderful feelings.
The quality is fantastic with and action that I can really appreciate, this is going to see a lot of pocket time, I have no doubt.
Thank you to "you know who you are" for a very generous and usable gift.

No... But that would be more like the after-dinner mint you get after having a great meal at a five star restaurant.Did the Tony Bose commemorative Tribal Lock knife come with it?
Gorgeous! Who makes it?
I noticed the steel on these was kind of a dull grey, and it occurred to me to test it. I’m not sure what it is, but it does appear to stain:I was considering purchasing one of these:

I have the one-layer version with just the 2 blades, and I like it but it is too thin for my hand.
Instead, for about the same price, I got a lot of 4 plastic-handled versions, NOS, stamped “Czechoslovakia” on the blade (which should give you an idea how old they are).

2 of them are very good, and 2 of them are perfectly serviceable but have issues with the screwdriver/bottle opener rubbing against the can opener, and even striking the top of it when closing.
I sharpened up one of the good ones, to use while I decide what to do with the others.

Very nice.
Nice Bart. I like it when they wrap the spring around on knives with short blades. Like the Eureka. My Ettrick came today. It’s pretty nice. A lot of handle for not a lot of blade, which I knew when I bought it. It’s fairly different from anything I have. I’ll see how I like carrying and using it.

Think of it like a scalpel: Long handle, short blade is ideal for detail cutting. You get a lot of control.Very nice.![]()
The handle/blade ratio may seem weird, but in practice I bet it works a charm.
Thanks, John. It worked well just now cutting up a nectarine for my lunch.Very nice.![]()

Thanks, Todd. Me too.Nice Bart. I like it when they wrap the spring around on knives with short blades. Like the Eureka.![]()
You’re right. I hadn’t thought about similarities to a scalpel. It worked great the cutting the coarse part off the inside of the nectarine slices.Think of it like a scalpel: Long handle, short blade is ideal for detail cutting. You get a lot of control.![]()
