Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

My Ettrick came today. It’s pretty nice. A lot of handle for not a lot of blade, which I knew when I bought it. It’s fairly different from anything I have. I’ll see how I like carrying and using it.

I like those, eccentric and yours looks well put together. I hope the steel on yours is tougher than mine was, was scoring open Chestnuts and the tip didn't break but it got oddly bent, corrugated  Soft...

Mine has a stout pull and good snap, a couple of gaps but not too bad. I haven’t tested the blade on anything too tough yet. Let’s hope it’s not soft and bendy. I would have thought they would have their heat treat figured out by now.

I just received this small work knife (aka small sodbuster) in brown burlap. It’s being called a “tater skin.” My first impression is that it looks even better than the website photo. At 3.4” it’s a drop smaller than I anticipated but that’s ok. Quality wise it’s an “A.” Very sharp centered blade with about a 6 pull that locks up tight with the linerlock. I still feel that’s unneeded but I can live with it. There are absolutely no gaps and the transitions are smooth. Best Rough Ryder yet.3781DDC3-4DE9-413C-8BE5-609F9681DC2C.jpeg

Really like the look of that one! Tasty tater skin

I fished this interesting little guy out of ‘the bay’ … Colonial Knife Company advertising knife made for New Holland. And while it is very reminiscent of a peanut, apparently colonial simply called it a small jack knife. Best info I’ve been able to uncover puts it at late 50s early 60s. I really like the california clip/muskrat style blade, and the way the nail nick is forward of the secondary blade when closed. Nice snap and w&t on both, no wobble … nice little 5th pocket knife!
Here are some comparison pics next to a Case peanut and medium stockman (3318) …

I ordered one of the Carbon Small Coke Bottle knives, mostly because the ad showed a carbon shield and stainless steel blades. I'm both happy and sad to report that the blades are 1095 Carbon. I thought it would be so much fun to have a knife with a shield that advertises Carbon and blades actually made of stainless. But I prefer Carbon blades, so I'm happy. Also, the Fit n Finish is excellent... nice Micarta, no gaps (none), centered blades, smooth transitions, sharp blades, and a wonderful action. They did a fantastic job on this knife.

Nice find, it's a wonderful little pocket knife. 🤠
Thanks, John! I liked it when I saw it and I like it even more now that I have it in hand! it basically takes my favorite style of case clip blade, and puts it in nearly a peanut sized frame. Sportin plasti-bone handles, (as best I can tell) but they look and feel nice, so I’m ok with that. I also feel very fortunate to have found one in such good condition.
Can you tell I like it …. ? 😁😁😁

That’s a sweet little knife! I really like the micarta on that!

Got myself one of the Case 2318PU knife with a punch, in carbon steel
The description said CV, but the blades have CS stamped on them, so I am assuming 1095?
Either way, I'm happy. A lot of blade rub on the punch, but this one is a user and abuser anyway

Blade rub is inherent with the 18 pattern stockman from my experience. Excellent pattern in spite of it :thumbsup::thumbsup: I carry mine frequently.
