Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

webbman, you could likely polish out the bolster scratch on your ivory Fremont, or you could leave it and enjoy the pleasure of using this knife without worrying. I think some superficial marks that happen with normal use actually bond you to the knife. The only things that actually detract from a knife's beauty are damage like a broken off tip or a piece out of a handle scale, etc. and these occur from mis-use, not use.

Wasn't expecting this one until Monday, but it just arrived in my mailbox. 2 observations: Very well made and amazed at how thick the spine is on the Wharncliffe blade. It's the blade shape I wished GEC would have used on their #38.

I love this knife, in both Trapper and Dogleg forms. Something about GEC's Tortoise Acrylic really calls out to me! I wish I had pics in better light. This was taken after sunset. I'll have to remedy that soon.

Very nice cover material Robb

bozack, i too have a # 9 Sleeveboard Pen with Snakewood handles and the milled liners. Hard to capture in pictures but the Snakewood has a lot of interesting patterns in it and a sense of depth. I think this is by far The Best modern day Pen knife ever made. Go back 100 years and Pen knives were bigger sellers than Jack knives so there were many superbly built Pen knives. I think this # 9 GEC is right up there with a fit and finish equal to the best of the USA oldies.

My #9 is well made, but the wood is as you see it. Very dark through out. You have to look very hard to see the pattern in it.

I just picked this one up today. It needs a bit more clean up before I carry it.
Never had a "copperlock" before, but it feels like it'll make a slim but sturdy user.

Thanks dave308ek and Bob. Today was rainy and overcast, so no warm light. BTW most of the snow in that pic is not gone. Most, but not all. Some is tenaciously hanging on and I wouldn't be surprised to see it in summer!:D

We're just about rid of most traces of snow at my end of the state Robb. A couple patches here and there in the woods.
