Your newest addition:traditionals of course!

I just found these Fiskars loppers in a ditch while on our daily walk. They must've fallen off somebody's vehicle, because they were out in the middle of nowhere. It has a blade, so I guess this counts as my newest addition.
The joint needs oiled:0

I'm into pen knives lately. Found this Shapleigh.View attachment 2184568

Nice one. Beautiful bone, and the shield and tip bolsters are great!

This is my only recent addition:

Thanks Barrett, that easy open has been tugging at my wallet. The jigging, color and spearpoint are highly appealing.👍🏻

A Franklin 230 made by Schrade.
I have to dig deep to learn about this one. ...pre cleaning. Circa 1939?View attachment 2193986
There may have been a company called Tracy-Wells in Columbus, Ohio, involved.
Very nice. What do you plan to do to clean it up? Abrasives like Scotch Brite? Or just soak it in wd40? Just curious, I want to learn, too. 😃

I usually soak it in wd40, go from 400 to 12000 grit on blade and bolster ( I don't like shiny blades or bolsters). Scrub jigging, then apply Fiebing's leather dye for highlighting. Lastly Ren wax
Occasionally, I will force a patina.
That's my amateur approach.

I recently added several traditionals to my collection, but these two are my favorites of the lot. With bone scales, a congress pen marked "AMERICAN KNIFE CO, PLYMOUTH", dating between 1849 and 1875. With MOP scales, the swell-center pen is marked "CATTARAUGUS CUTLERY CO, LITTLE VALLEY, N. Y." and has great W&T. Total investment $6.

The broadaxe is marked "I. BLOOD" and "GOFFE & CO", a partnership that existed only in the early 1950s. While condition is always important in the items I collect, I gladly make allowances for things 100-150 yrs old. Thanks for watching! T-A
