  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Your opinion...What are the top 5 "must own" spydercos?

The Manix 2 lightweight isn't that great IMHO. The regular Manix 2 is Spyderco's best folder of all time IMO..and yes..even better than the para 2. And they're only $90 over at BladeHQ which is a steal for what you're actually getting. Don't use the lightweight model as a reference for the Manix 2, it really kinda sucks IMO. Go for the regular version.

My five favorite spydercos in no particular order are:

Gayle Bradley
Techno
Paramilitary 2
Military
Native 5

Honorable Mention:
Sage 1 and 2
Southard.

Top five for a Spyderco collector:
Delica
Sage 1
Paramilitary 2
Military
Gayle Bradley

southard
delica
dragonfly 2
police g10 spyderedge
superleaf

my favorite spyderco right now is the chokwe, it cuts like a lazer, is insane smooth, and has a titanium lock side.

I've owned many, many Spydies over the years. Traded or sold many away. IMO, there are three must haves and many more "really should haves"

Military
Delica 4
Gayle Bradley

I also like the suggestion about the Salt line.

-Para2 (any of them)
-Manix2 (any of them)
-Ladybug3 Salt Hawkbill
-Stretch CF ZDP-189
-Domino Flipper (when it comes out)

I have the first 3...the Stretch CF should be arriving tomorrow or Friday (very stoked to finally find one of these) and just waiting on the Domino to hit the market.

Those are my must have and/or must keep Spydies!

Military
Manix 2
Paramilitary
Dragonfly
Caly

(Any version of any of the families listed above will give any user a broad sampling of the staple Spydercos)

Stretch ZDP189, this thing has taken over my pocket.
Delica 4
Endura 4
Parmilitary 2
and a Squeak for those time that you need a slip joint.

M4 Military
S90v Military
S90v Para2
ZDP 189 cf Stretch
S90v Manix2

Are my top 5 most carried Spyderco's.
(Till the S90v Manix XL comes out..... Soon...........:D )

My top 5, in order:

1. PM2
2. FFG Delica 4
3. Serrated Pacific Salt
4. Stretch
5. Matriarch 2

tough one
1. Endura 4 (big enough and light enough and yes, cheap enough for EDC on the job)
2. Gayle Bradley (Just an awesome knife)
3. Para 1 or 2 (great knives)
4. Dragonfly 2 (can do 90% of EDC jobs required of it and won't scare the sheeple)
5. The Sage series - I prefer the 2 (great gents knives)

Honorble mentions:
Native, Delica, Dodo (it's just cool) and because I've had one for forever, a Chinook.

- Endura 4 / Delica 4
- PM2
- Something with an H1 blade
- A value folder (Ambitious, Persistence, Tenacious, or Resilience)
- A sprint run (Lum Tanto, Dodo, etc)
