"Be creative. Go nuts" ok... you asked for it. i know this is going to be blasphemous but here we go... a mini version, similar to a Hibben Double Shadow Dagger! double edge dagger with the split down the middle even...real sharp and pointy.. you didn't say this had to really be practical.. just fun.. like i said, blasphemy! Becker into a fantasy knife... wtf? lol or just a recurve blade with jimping and a bottle opener would be cool too.

Too bad double edged dagger is illegal here, otherwise I wouldn't mind that haha. Could just regrind into a reverse tanto wharncliffe straight razor style with no belly and lose an inch on the cutting edge. Thanks for this, it's fun thinking of the possibilities.

Stick tang. Sculpted bronze guard, with a matching cap on the end. Blackwood or ebony handle seamlessly mated to both. Forge a slight bend into the knife so the spine is not so flat and straight. Put a subdued clip point on it, similar to the BK7, but maybe beginning a little farther back towards the guard. Of course, for this blade, there'll be no coating. The knife will require a nice, dark, rustic patina

Cut the tip off square at the start of the drop point. Add a nailpuller "V" notch and grind the new square edge to a matching grind angle as the original blade. Bead blast the finish off and leave finish as matte finish. Add jimping to the back of the blade. Fill skeleton handle holes with nice wood inlays then coat entire handle in clear epoxy.

The new square "tip" would work as a small prybar.

This may be sound like blashemy, but.... How about making it a reverse grip edge in wharcliffe style knife. Basically the current spine would be the edge and most of the current edge would be gone. re-coat it black, throw on some nice micarta or g10 grips, and a slim fitting kydex sheath for inside the waisband carry and you would have one helluva last ditch back-up knife. I know thats not the usual modus operadi around here, but I think it would be a really cool concept knife.

I am not a regular here, but have posted before. What I am trying to say is I dont care if I win (although it would be nice), but would rather see what the knife looks like even if it was given to someone else.

Okay, I havent looked at ALL the replies, so I don't know if anyone had some of these ideas.

1. Custom Black G10 scales with deep texturing
2. Half serrated blade, and a sharpened spine with a pointier tip:D
3. Matte black coating with some kind of offset (maybe grey?) Tiger stripes.
4. Some shallow finger grooves for more grip.(considering its a skeleton handle)
5. A ratchet wrench in the circle:)

Thanks Totino!;)

I withdrew my idea/s. I have had a rendering of a custom 14 for months. It's something I wanted to do, and hate letting the cat out of the bag, so to speak.

So, anyone that has seen me "draw" knows I can't draw worth crap! So, here is my pitiful attempt.
This is what I started with. A basic BK-14 with a handle wrap.

This is what I've come up with:
IMAG0805.jpg

Stripped and polished, the front chopped off and straightened and sharpened. Jimping added along the top of the spine near the ricasso and further forward as well as along the back of the ring so while using it as push knife you have a good place to hold. The inside front of the ring sharpened for pulling a firesteel through when holding in a reverse grip. Then the handle covered in a pretty wood, burl or osage orange or something like that held in place with brass tubes.

2nd Idea....

A skinning piggyback knife for your large one, slash inpromtu spearhead!

1. You can use some of your experience with this too...But a fully jimped curve into the spine, not taking anything from the tip.

2. Notches at the guard and down the handle(for lashing)
3. Squared spine, and maybe a sharpened swedge? I don.t have a way to make an example, but I was thinking of a blade more like a:) Johnson piggyback.

You guys are STARTING to get creative. there's a few I like real well. You guys still got time to knock em off the mountain though......

Strip the blade, change the grind into a modified Wharncliffe or a well-below-center spear point, do some of that fancy file work of yours on the spine (even in the handle area and fill with epoxy), and put some really nice contoured exotic hardwood handles scales on it with a nicely polished nickle silver bolster :)

Grind a curve in the spine like a more persian, jump for your thumb, and sharpen the Persian swerve:) then make some sweet g10 grips and make it a self defense or edc type blade.

Came up with something new.
