Your Top 5 production survival knives!

Ontario TAK-1 (1095)
Ranger Knives RD4 (the thickness of 0.250 has a weight issue) (5160)
Ontario RAT-5 (1095)
Victorinox Ranger
Victorinox Trekker

It's a budget range of knives (no Busse or other High end top $$), but extremely well build (especially the RD4 !!!) and up to almost any normal knife task.

I have several other knives, but the TAK-1 and RD4 are used the most.
The perfect combo is: RD4 with the Vic Ranger, complemented with a Doan tool.

Well, I don't even have five, but I did my research before any of my blades/tools were acquired.

Ontario SP8 ($50) - I love this thing well worth the $$
CR mountaineer II ($255) - speaks for itself, the only hollow handle I would own
Leatherman Blast ($50) - gotta have a multi-tool
CS SRK ($100) - used the crap out of this thing, good for the price
Bravo-1 ($160) - will have it in hand on Monday and I'm sure it will make this list

Wow, that Bravo-1 looks nice!

Of what I own:
Spyderco Manix
Leatherman Charge
Becker BK-9
Microtech Curahee
Rat-3

Of what I own:

Ranger RD7 (Old style drop point design, 5160.)
Wenger Handyman
Cold Steel Finn Bear (Closest thing to a Mora I own.)
Benchmade Vex (Good, solid, sturdy folder with a secure lock and G-10 scales.)
Nothing to go here, really. The other I'd include (Ranger custom AUCK) isn't a production knife.

Out of those on the market, that I don't own:

Ontario TAK
Fallkniven F1
Victorinox One-Handed Trekker
BRK&T Bravo 1
Leatherman Wave

Only five huh? I guess these would work.

I just can't stand some factory handles. Oh, 86 the Koster nessmuk on my top 5, it isn't production, but I still love it.

Here are the ones that are part of my survival gear while I'm here in Iraq:

Benchmade Desert Griptilian
Cold Steel SRK, with a convex edge I reprofiled myself
Victorinox "Ranger" model SAK
Wenger "Soldier" model SAK
Gerber Multi-Plier

And there's always my "old" Benchmade Mini-AFCK with the coated blade that I "de-horned" for easier pocket carry, and the "Old Timer" OT34 medium stock knife, which is a real workhorse!
