Your urban EDC, what do you tote?

This is a whole new part of an edc setup, to me, at least, and, like I said, I'm fascinated. In the true spirit of an edc discussion let me ask some more questions.

So, as part of your EDC carry, is it something you use everyday, just like a SAK or Altoids? Or is it more like "urban emergency/survival" type gear? Like a first aid kit? Do you wear it like when you are walking to your school or driving to the mall and stuff? Or just to organized techno-anarchist events? Do anarchists have organized events?

I only have it in urbn environments. I wear it to school or just walking around when I feel the want. There are orgabized events too. look up the million mask march.

Do people give you candy?

Sorry. It was just hanging there. I couldn't just leave it.

Thanks for replying. Believe you me, I'd love to ask more questions and continue this discussion, but I believe you may be right, it may be taking things too off topic...probably more a "Gadgets and Gear" discussion.

I wasn't going to say anything, but you brought up 'organized'...

I work in downtown Columbus, within eyesight of the state capitol building. I see these "anonymous" guys out there protesting often, screaming into their megaphones, wearing those silly masks, holding large signs with vague references that probably less than 2% of the general passing public even understands.

And, as someone mentioned earlier. Neckbeards. Neckbeards galore. Usually large, disheveled looking guys in stupid trench coats who are more familiar with the inside of Burger King than they are the local gym.

The problem with them is, their message is so ridiculously unclear they're basically only their for photo ops to use on their sites. Nobody (but them) knows what their issues are, nobody knows what their agenda is, they are the OPPOSITE of organized. I'm sure their messages are important, but their delivery flat out sucks.

I cant believe none of you carry rubber (medical style) gloves, especially in an urban environment! You never know when your going to have to help someone sick, it might not even be blood, or when you're goin to have to touch something nasty.

I carry a pouch on my belt with 2 pairs and if I know I'm going to need a pair I'll stick a third in my back pocket so I still have the other 2 pairs.

I carry a pair in my mini first aid kit in my backpack

I carry a Browning Hi Power, Emerson CQC 6 ( although starting to have second thoughts as this knife seems to be getting too valuable to lose), a Sebenza, fenix in the car, surefire in my laptop bag, kubotan on the keys. Used to carry a spray as well but have toned down now as I tend to drive most places.

I'm going start carrying a pair after reading this. I don't know why it didn't occur to me to do so before--latex gloves take up so little space. It's weird how many people don't see any risk in touching other people's blood (or anything else nasty) and give me a hard time for not wanting to do it. I can't help but wonder how many of them do it as a defense mechanism for their own risky behavior, seeing as anyone educated in the US learns in K-12 that contact with blood can spread pathogens. I actually have a roommate who was likely exposed to HIV, and his response has been to act like blood (his and anyone's) can't possibly spread anything. After bleeding in the bathroom and refusing to clean it up properly (shouting "I don't have anything!"), he's getting kicked out. I just don't get how people can be so stupid. I even had a cut on my hand when I went in there and found blood smeared on the faucet handle--thank god I saw the blood before I touched anything.

Saying "I don't have anything" is the oldest lie since people learned how diseases spread. It's what she said, he said, and people with VD said, even if they don't know for sure that they are lying. They are trying to convince themselves whether they realize it or not. If someone is cautious enough around bodily fluids to not catch anything, they won't ever expect you to touch theirs. It reminds me of the saying, 'it's the people who want to use a condom who you probably don't really need to with, and the ones who are fine not using one that you really need one for.'

I dunno. Getting kicks out of making everyone around you uncomfortable or down right scared? Are you an adult?

Hackers...We are Anonymous.

Caleb, Caleb, Caleb. Son, I know I'm going off-topic, but I really have to give you some advice. I know I'm an old guy and stuff, but you might want to heed it.

Pro tip...if you provide a link to your YouTube page...someone might use that get your last name, and a video of your face...maybe say one where you freestyle beat box. Then they might use that to find your other YouTube channel, and find...oh...I don't know...a vid of you in your mask. And then use your first and last name to find your town. Not even "Deep Web" hacker stuff. Good old YouTube, Google, and the BF search function. Anonymous no more.

So you might not want to do that.

That is the link to the video.

Or at least clean up after yourself, as it were.

Pretty basic stuff.

Keychain, watch, and small folder. Just realized I left my wallet in the car. :o

All it takes is that nick on your finger from fondling your knives all day, or that tiny little break of skin from a hangnail. I would change that school of thought and also, as a medical professional, feel compelled to tell people here that you aren't protecting yourself by doing nothing to protect yourself. No offense.

Of course washing your hands and hand sanitizer is a great idea. I'm certainly not saying to glove up when you get on the subway. But, I don't want people on here thinking their skin is "good enough" when it comes to bodily fluids and other nasty substances. Recipe for disaster.

Thanks bro! Always got my back!

Start carrying gloves, get use to it and you'll never go back. I have no issue getting dirty from head to toe- I'm the first person to jump in the s*** hole, to fix something, to find something, even just for fun, but I'm good on touching biologicals.

2 pairs of gloves in a pouch long way on my belt take up almost no space and before I started that I carried one pair in my pocket and that really took up zero space.

Edit #2: Columbus here as well, and I believe we're all within a couple miles of each other!

I'm not saying I'm going in to someone's body cavity without gloves. I'm just arguing that most people won't be carrying gloves around as dirty and filthy as trains are. I also am retarded and won't sit in the corner seats of trains because that's where the homeless dudes sit. But that's just me. I tend to think I'm all that now that I don't live in the ghetto anymore, lmao...

Caleb,
If you are only 13 years old, chances are you are not a part of some big organization that has pretty much nothing to do with nothing.
I'm with dOnut as well, I also live in Columbus and have all my life.
I've seen protest after protest and very few actually make any sense.
Does "Anonymous" even have a purpose? Or is it just because?

I also agree that wearing your mask walking to school, walking from school, etc. gives people the absolute wrong idea of who you are and what you stand for. What is it that "Anonymous" stands for anyways?

The government would also have no way of tracking you for buying a mask unless you used a credit/debit card in your name or had to show ID.
1.) You're not old enough to have a card in your name.
2.) You don't have to show any kind of ID to buy a mask.
3.) Even if you did have to show ID, you'd only be traceable if the cashier took your name/etc or a copy of your ID.

Your being a part of "Anonymous" just doesn't seem to add up. Or make any sense what so ever.

On Topic....
Lately I carry:
Spyderco Domino
Nemesis Manx
Fisher Space Pen Explorer
Wallet
Phone
Etc.

I'll always have them on my persona but for carrying in a bag/purse- for my wife and in our vehicles I found a small ~2x3" ziplock bag that holds 3 pair of gloves rolled up perfectly (the same size also holds 4xAA batteries perfectly).
Now I know its no where near sterile and I'm not pretending it is (my FAK has several sets of sterile, pre-packaged gloves in it) but I open the box of gloves and the box of bags at the same time wearing gloves myself and then package them all up without contaminating it any (again obviously far from sterile) just for a little added protection for the people/animal I may be helping.
