Zero Tolerance 0302 vs. Strider SNG

I've had the ZT0302 for about 6 months now. Way cheaper, and a lot to love. Yeah, so it's a little bit heavier than the usual EDC. What, are you going into battle tomorrow and you have to cut weight? I've carried this blade almost every day, and the weight is fine. I think it's the problem de jour with the ZT0302. Some guy new to knives hears this and propagates what he heard to make himself sound educated. I love the 0302. You can not go wrong with this folder.

Yes, insult people for not wanting to carry an 8oz folder.

Some of us wear dress pants. All the damn time. Fine to you is ridiculous and impossible for me, deal with it.

And I dont need someone to tell me it's a heavy knife. I can pick the damn thing up and tell for myself. I think you are underestimating the average person's ability to judge weight.

Uh, sorry if I'm asking a really idiotic question, but what's the difference between the 0300, 0301, 0302, and 0350? I always wanted to ask this and I thought that starting a new thread would be kinda pointless.

If you have your eye on an SNG you should just save up for one. I own both a ZT 302 and an SNG, I originally was interested in an SNG but went with the ZT at first. It's a great knife, but after I picked up my SNG there's really no comparison IMO. The knives are really completely different, it makes me wonder if all the people that suggest getting the ZT have ever handled/carried an SNG. In the long run you'll save money by saving for an SNG, because the ZT will fill your want for an SNG for a little while but then you'll find yourself looking at the SNG again. You can't go wrong either way, but the SNG get's my vote.

The 0300, 0301, and 0302(also known as the 030x series) are all the same knife basically with one handle G-10 and one handle titanium. They are
framelocks.
-0300 has black handles and black blade
-0301 has black/green handles with tiger-striped blade
-0302 has black/tan handles with tiger-striped blade

The 0350 has black/black G-10 handles with a black blade and is a liner-lock version.

Get that down and then we'll go thru all the Strider DGG CC etc stuff. Then on to Busse. :D

Lotsa people can judge weight.

Lotsa people in this thread seemingly can't judge character though.:p

Lots of good answers here, not sure if i can add any more... anywway... I had both and sold both. Sng is really light and good in hand. Not enough blade length for me. Zt gives you more bang for you buck. Quality is on par or maybe higher then Strider's. Plus AO is cool thing. Yup, it is heavy, thinner grip too.
You should handle both, at least ZT and Buck Strider (as a lifesize model).

As i mentioned, i sold both...
guess what i kept?
SMF )))

I don't understand all the concern with 7 or 8oz knives in your pockets. I wear a belt and as long as the knife has a low profile I don't notice it.

I own both SmF's and a 0301.

I carry my SmF CC when wearing slacks, at 5.5 oz I can't even feel it and forget it's even there.

I carry my 0301 when wearing jeans, it carries well with jeans on, mine weighs 8.4 oz.

My 300 has no rattle either. It's action and lock-up are a thing of beauty. I love the way the handle fits my hand in a wide variety of different grips. The weight is not an issue for me. That said, I carry it with jeans. For dress pants, I carry a 940 w/out the clip. It's so thin that none of my students have ever commented on the bulge.

I haven't bitten the bullet on a Strider yet, and I'm not sure if I ever will. I want a knife that is going to have a high level of fit and finish, and no bladeplay. I think I found that in my 300. I recommend it highly.

Guess you missed the photos of my SmF CC, F&F are excellent and zero blade play. ;)

Reality never got in the way of brand loyalty around here Ankerson.

There is of course good info, you just have to be able to remove the veil of either fanboyism or seething hatred in many cases.

That's true. :)
