Zero Tolerance 0427 LE

The knife is based on the Sinkevich Do custom which has been around longer much longer than the decepticon.

The 0427 is a much cooler made in the USA knife and is $400 cheaper than the Chinese made ckf.

This is a knife that really has to be seen in person to appreciate.

Loads of really cool tech in this. Tunable detent is amazing. New take on the subframe lock is also badass.

As a fan of Sinkevich and the Do custom and having handled it extensively in person this weekend, it is probably the best knife since the 0777 imho.

Mind you the 0777 was another knife that people thought looked out there before becoming an iconic design.

I'll echo this sentiment.

However there's not much else to be said when so many people are incapable of thinking beyond the "ugly LOLOL!" mindset.

It's a very cool knife.

Well, that's certainly hideous.

If you want that kind of money for it, it better be sexy as hell, not just "cool". And it's hideous. So, for the folks who are visually impaired, buy away.

Well, it is ugly. I don't care if the blade was heat treated on Neptune and quenched in unicorn piss, it looks ridiculous.

Sorry if we hurt your feelings:(

I like the handle. The blade is really ugly. When you have a "busy" design like that, you can flop big time. I've been impressed with Custom Knife Factory because their designs are unusual and yet still have aesthetic appeal and functionality.

Something negative about Kai has been said and here he is.

Is that you Thomas?

Id like to try her out on a cutting board. Seems like one's hand would be nice and elevated, perfect for slicing meats and veggies.

I rather like the design. Its ugly, but interesting.Like the designer used a Bastinelli for inspiration but only had a ruler.

Man, I can't joke about stuff via text without it being misinterpreted. "X gonna sue somebody" is a reference to a dumb movie.

Yup. That sort of stuff gets completely lost in text. I get it now that you explained it (not the movie reference) and it is true. Should have said mantis or QM with some of these :D:rolleyes:;)

I appreciate knives like this because they demonstrate that Zero Tolerance is still making active efforts to improve their knives. That said, there's other Sinkevich designs I would have liked to see instead (Jeans, Polutchotkiy), because this one is just a little too out-there for me.

Also, the "tunable detent" system, per Jim McNair's explanation in the BladeHQ video, appears to be exactly the same as Emerson's "safety detent", albeit much better executed. I think it's great to start using a detent separate from the lockbar because too often companies just give a knife huge lockbar tension to make it flip better.
