Zero Tolerance 0801S110V Limited Run

Yeah I don't understand non-problem problems either.

If it was to identify steel wouldn't all S110V models have it?

No idea. I just buy em, I don't make em. Mine seems to be working just fine. ;)

I'm not looking for a solution guys. I'm simply asking others to check theirs and let me know if it's the same. For some reason everyone wants to tell me it's OK but nobody will confirm if they have the weird detent hole. I'm not trying to make a big deal. Just a simple yes or no question.

Does yours have the "weird" detent hole?

Maybe the detent ball is contacting the edge of both holes therefore wearing the ball down twice as fast. Maybe it's a machining flaw and the edge isn't radiused like it's supposed to be. I really don't know but if that's not how the detent hole is supposed to be maybe there will be some problem down the road that I cant think of now.

I don't think a counter-sunk detent hole would wear the ball out any faster.

Like I said, I have the same kind of detent hole on a different knife that is not S110V, and it has not impacted the operation of the knife whatsoever.

Maybe you and I are just special, so we got the special detent!

:cool::thumbup:

Enjoy your knife - it's a beauty!

I don't have a ZT on me at the moment but isn't the detent ball set into the lock puck? If that's the case, who cares if it 'may' cause an issue down the road. The lock pucks are replaceable.

That being said, I agree that it is likely there to allow the ball to sit deeper and its offset so the detent is stronger. Centering the countersink would give the ball a little ramp to help it come out which would weaker the detent.

Wish they would have brought back the 0801 in the cf or brwcf version again instead of this one.

Let's let it go - I don't think the detent hole will be a problem, no use in getting this thread shut down like so many others .

All of you - CHILL.

It's a great knife, I am looking forward to brown walking up my snow-lined porch to drop mine off!!

What do you mean "let's let it go". I ask a simple question and everyone runs to the defense of ZT. I didn't accuse them of anything nor have I said it's even a problem. I only answered someone else's question about what problem could arise. I just wanted to see if mine is the way they are supposed to be. It's up to me to decide if I think it's an issue. First step is to see if they are all that way. I'm not screaming bloody murder or anything.

If you don't want to check yours, fine. Don't start a flame war though. Dont get all snotty saying I should just use my knife.

I don't understand all the fuss about answering your simple question. Yes, mine has it as well. I hope that helps.

All of what fuss? All the fuss is coming from people giving me a hard time for asking a simple question. Thank you for your answer.

Take it easy, that's what I meant. I don't understand all the fuss from others about giving you a simple answer to a simple question.

Mine works fine. It's a very well-made knife. The blade just flies open. The detent is so strong, much stronger than any other knife I have owned, that when I pull the blade out, the detent makes a "sproing" sound when it finally releases.

The flipper action is much different than my 0560s.

That is very simple.

Whether you started it or kept the ball in the air, I don't give a flying fack.

Let's let it go.

So - how do you love your knife? Lovin' it?

I hope to have one soon.

Sorry. Just a little defensive from all the flack. I appreciate the answer.

This whole thing reminds me of that scene in The Breakfast Club. "Answer the question Claire"!
