Zero Tolerance 0801S110V Limited Run

Super nice 0801S110V is in hands on another glorious sunny day in SoCal! Very nice stonewashing, sharp/centered/nice grind blade, same strong detent and flips great. Tiny nitpick is wishing all the hardware was stonewashed as well. It sure would enhance the looks.

Oh noes! I'm being added to the ignore list of not 1 but 2 illiterates! Lol

Ask a simple question get a stupid answer. That's how the saying goes right?

That's what I get for hanging out with the general population. Back to cell block B.

Agitating the situation after I calm things down isn't the correct choice.

Let's all stay on topic going forward and if we're going to address each other please do so with civility.

Since you quoted it and I had to see it, isn't that a personal attack in his part?

RamZar, is the hardware the regular type with the coating on it? I have seen (not tried) people take the screws and stick them in a Dremel to spin it on a scotchbrite and get the coating off leaving a satin finish. I don't know that I will try it with mine after it arrives, but it is a thought if you were looking for "non-coated" hardware.

I went into KSF's brick & mortar this morning to look at some things and asked if they still had any 801s with the s110v. The associate said he thought they were out, which was more a curiousity for me than anything.

The S110V steel isn't a big deal to me. The plain style scales in that handle shape... Whoa. That is sexy. Pushes my buttons, big time. I'd jump on one in any quality steel.

I'll probably pick up a standard 0801 soon, or maybe when I drop back in to make another buy this week.

al g blenny, my 0562CF #1085 has a detent hole like your pic. it has a very strong detent. My 0801S110V # 191 has a "normal" detent hole like my Elmax 0801. They both have a nice feel to the detent, not excessive or weak. Hope this helps. :)

Maybe there are two people in charge of setting detents and they each do it a little different.

Mine is in the mail too, hope to get it soon. Curious to see what all this "hole" talk is about!!!

I have not seen my package pop up on myups - I assume it'll ship that way.

I am interested in trying this out against the Spyderco Manix2 that I received as a gift at Christmas, which is also S110V.

I also have the ZT0560CBCF in S110V that I could compare, it has been pretty good so far but I have not put "extended" cutting miles on it as yet, just basic stuff.

those people that have ordered one i would love to know where you got them from, i havent had any luck finding one.
i need this knife and the 0770CF with a black blade in M4 steel , that knife is almost as sexy as morrows avatar

that 0801 is awesome, i really want the CF version but its too expensive i just hope i can snag one of the s110v versions. the 0801 is by far my best manual knife, i didnt think it was possible to have an action so smooth while still having a solid lockup with zero play, every time i open and close it, it takes me by surprise how smooth it is. Everybody at my work is super jelous

I haven't been able to find any for sale at a store but there is one on an auction site already.

i just bought myself a manix 2 in s110v. it was my first spyderco, I always dissliked the looks of spyderco knives but i really wanted a knife in s110v so i decided to give it a try (i didnt know this knife was available at the time, if i had i probably would have got this instead) anyways i am glad i got it though because now i actually am starting to like the looks and i love how the knife and the steel function. i will be buying more sp[ydercos in the future and more s110v blades as well. however i havnt decided which i like better m390 or s110v. I hope they make a 0770cf with s110v or s90v so i can compare the same knife with two different steels to give a more fair comparison

My guess is that some of the detent balls and the detent holes in blade did not match perfectly, so they did a little alteration so it would have detent, I have one left on shelf for one of my customers that has the wider hole like photo that was posted. All detents felt about the same to me during shipping process.
