Zero Tolerance Current/Upcoming/Discontinued Models

ZT must be sitting on a pile of 0095's and they're just trying to do something to move them. The black and tan is terrible... The solid black and TS looked nice but plenty of people talked about action issues w/ the TS. the 462blk is VERY tempting even tho I'm not the biggest fan of coated blades. It just looks AMAZING.

I got the email about the ZT LE 0450FCDAM (on sale July 12th for $400) but doubt it’ll sell well. The 0450FCZDP which went on sale on May 25th for $350 is still available at 4 of 8 dealers! That’s 5 weeks after they went on sale which is unheard of for a ZT LE.

The 0450 seems like a popular model, but it's an odd choice for the recent LE's IMO. The extremely popular 0562 in a full Ti LE would be something I bet more people would be willing to pay over $300 for.

I'd definitely buy a full Ti 562.

These last few sprints have felt a little uninspired. They have to be trying to get rid of the 0095. If I had to guess I’d say that would be one of their lower sellers.

This latest 0450 intrigues me for some reason. I wish they had done this with a 0452.

Like the guys above, bring on a full ti 0562!

I could be wrong but this one did not sell fast partly because the knife is too small. Had it been a 0452FCDAM at $350 it would have been sold much faster, I suspect.

I held the same belief as you per framkelock until recently when I got cut badly by a well-known knife of framelock due to lock slipping.

I recently ran across a YouTube video on the weakness of ZTs frame locks. The guy made all 6 of his ZTs fail simply by doing a spine whack to his hand. I tried it with my ZT 0393 and sure enough it fails this test also. It may be built like a tank but my faith in the lock is not very high.

Out of curiosity I did a spine Tap
test on these 4 knives.
Guess which one failed?

If you guessed the most expensive one you would be correct.
Granted it does have a lockbar insert and I could most likely remedy it with a few file swipes but I shouldn’t have to.

I bought the 0620cf new a few years ago and it was my last ZT.
Not because of lockup, nothing new really appealed to me.
But this issue can almost guarantee I won’t be getting any newer ones.

I've been yammering for a full TI 0562 for like, a couple years now. It's high time for sure.

The ZT sprints have been very, very uninspired and uninteresting for the last year or two. Mostly because they just keep repeating the same things but with a different part DLC coated or given a different color of said DLC coating. Not the same thing as a legit sprint run. It's lame. Hopefully they break out of this rut at some point.

I’m oddly disinterested in a full ti 0562. I generally like full ti handles (not necessarily more or less than G-10). It just seems like a strange fit for the 0562. I suppose it’s because the 0562 feels so blue collar to me. I mean that in a great way. I got the G-10 version instead of the CF, after handling each. It just felt right. Simple. Useful.

I say this as a guy who also bought the sexy 0609 and a Lionsteel TiSpine.

An thing I’d love to see would be a 0563– .12” blade thickness, shrunk down to just over the size of a 0566, full flat grind 20CV drop point, satin finish, full ti handles in stonewash with radial milling and blue hardware. Gimme, gimme.

CS Tri-ad= lock strength ;) Although I've never had a KAI fail either !
