Zero Tolerance knives what is all the hype?

I've had a few fail over the years. Also, a liner lock isn't even close to being as strong as a frame lock. I've seen a bunch of liner locks fail with very little abuse when testing them. Some are quite surprising at how little it takes to make them fail. On the ZT the liner lock folds over, then snaps...In case you were not aware. :)

You shouldnt have anything to worry about with a liner or frame lock when its done right. KAI among others makes them right.

What liner locks from your personal experience fail? Liner licks have been very common through the years and they range from gas station knives to brands with a good reputation. Im into many different locks but for example, the Military is a liner lock done right and I have no reservations using it. If there is an issue perhaps its a QC one and not the lock. Yes theres stronger locks out there, not denying that but there are many liner locks that are just as reliable as framelocks and actually perhaps more so.

What were you doing when they failed?

Hype around ZT?....
lol... Ive had them, and sold them nearly as quick as I got them....

They wern't for me at all... they had the price tag of a nice semi-customish blade.... however they certainly lacked the feel of one....

It honestly felt like a cheap plastic kershaw in my hand... however I am spoiled with the many Chris Reeve and Hinderers I own and carry daily...

I would suggest holding onto your money, and buying another brand.

lol, isn't it great how they advertise them as "hard use" folders... and write it all over the box so when it arrives you are even more excited... then you look at the lock and question why in the world they'd put the weakest (in theory) type of lock on a "hard use" folder.... ?

What zt knife is priced near a custom except the limited editions?

You do realize that they use the same materials that crk and hinderer uses?

I mean you are obviously entitled to feel however you want but the price and feeling like a cheap plastic Kershaw comments don't make any sense.

Hard use =\= abuse

Hmm I'd think you'd know what kind of lock was on a knife before you order it? At least I've never bought one and didn't know how it locks.

I have cheap Kershaws. And I have several Zero Tolerance knives. Other than a few that have similar looks (Cryo to ZT0550, Thermite to ZT0560, etc.), they are nothing alike in fit and finish and materials.

Are you sure you didn't get knockoffs?

Honestly can anyone imagine someone ordering a knife and then being surprised it has a liner lock? What do they do just order the thing without reading any text on it? Just look at the pictures and order away! :D

I guess I'll just have to use my 0770 to cut things? Boy do I feel ripped off....😒

Rambo has PTSD
He is talking about knock offs of chinese customs :D:D
And just to be clear, I own CRK and Hinderer and none of them uses M390, Elmax, s110, etc steel so ZT uses even better materials!

Even the limited editions aren't priced that high. I got mine for in the 300 range. The secondary market prices don't count.

Maybe somebody can't tell plastic from ti?

Because that is what the big dollar spenders (like yourself) want to buy. In case you missed it, Hinderer uses the RIL, as does Strider, ZT, of course CRK does. I would have thought you would knew that.

My 0777 killed those broccoli so easy and fast I swear they didn't feel a thing :-)
I sharpened to 1600 grit with ceramic stones and my arm hair jumps scare shitless before becoming in contact with the blade :D

Here you go made of the same stuff as Chris Reeve and Hinderer uses. If you think it feels like a cheap plastic Kershaw, think again. And no that's not plastic it's carbon fiber.
