Zombie Tools knives Quality

Apparently they're pretty good at pissing off grumpy old people...which are the real zombies anyway. If something works that well just talking about it, it must be of good quality. :p

Never owned a zombie tool knife. I do like a few of their models appearances. What concerns me is that they have aluminum handles I am sure to cut back on weight but it makes me wonder how comfortable that will end up being on the hand if one actually tried to use it them in a camp setting.

Lot's of negativity here.:(
You like "tactical" folders? You MUST be a mall ninja/closet psychopath.
You like "zombie themed" knives or swords? You MUST be a maladjusted gamer huddling in mom's basement.
You like outdoorsy knives? You MUST be thinking of how awesome the end of the world will be (and be a closet psychopath).
You carry a slip-joint? Wow, you MUST be really old.

Well geeze kids, zombies aren't real (we all knew that).
If the world is going to end, your damn knife will only be useful for killing yourself.
There aren't any ninjas, even in malls!
There aren't any samurai either (sorry all you JSA folks:D).
"Tactical" knives get used for cutting fruit and string most of the time, not people (which is why we're not all in jail).
Slip-joints are handy even for people with their hair still on their heads too.

So, we can all chill and figure that people have different tastes in things (SHOCKING!!!), or we can be a bunch a holier-than-thou dinks and not have any fun, outside of the fun of being pissed off over nothing.

Oh, I personally find their stuff to be hideous, but if you like it, I won't judge.:)

I think they're cool as heck. They're handmade by a couple guys who love what they're doing and done so out of good steel. The designs aren't any weirder than what many others put out. They just have their own style. As far as the zombie stuff, they're having fun. Sure they could just borrow the standard cliche of pretending to be "tactical" and "combat" like others that use the military as a marketing gimmick. Hell, I salute 'em for doing their own thing and not trying to be what the masses want.

I'm not digging the attitude some of you roll in here with.
The name is to draw attention. Do they likely get business from total nerds sitting in their parents' basements? Of course they do, as does Busse, Swamp Rat, Scrap Yard, Kabar, any of your sword manufacturers, any company that makes machetes, any company that makes knives at all really will attract some of those people.
But you know what? Why do you roll in here and bitch out the company because some of the clientelle is odd, or nerdy, or clueless? That's the kind of argument a disarmament type rolls in with, that "oh you don't need those why do you own them?". I can confirm the product is good, I've handled and used some of it and it is quite legit.
Remember, I can call an M16 a paintball gun, I can call it a rose. It is still an M16. It still works, and is still lethal.
And really, why do you care why those guys buy their knives? I guarantee every sane man who has ever owned something cool like that fantasizes about using it to its greatest potential. Skiers dream about those incredible steeps in deep powder on custom planks, car enthusiasts want to take a sports car out to the race track and try going a few hundred miles an hour. every gun guy thinks about using that rifle in the safe (which probably never fired a shot in anger, and never will) kicking doors or shooting zombies or dueling it out with a sniper at some ungodly distance.
You need to embrace the teenage boy in you when you handle your gear to a degree, or else the gear is only worth as much as the tasks it can accomplish, and in my mind if I invest a lot of money in something, I am well within my rights to enjoy it as more than an easy way to accomplish tasks.
YMMV

I see WSK's as a fantasy knife-- lots of people would argue against me about that.

Just because you do not understand the design, or the use thereof, does not make it a fantasy knife. Wilderness survival is a real thing. Zombies are not. Apples and oranges.

Look I could use both of these to either survive in the wilderness or knifesturbate. 6 in one, half dozen in the other.

You've got a good point. I'd actually say that the top knife is a practical tool, with some goofy paint and uncomfortable points on the handle. The theme might be fantasy, but that looks like a decent blade.

Wow the amount of sheer butt-hurt being generated here is truly awe inspiring.

I love ZOMBIESSS. They are a great fictional idea and also useful as a worst case scenario for a survival exercise. I own alot of Tactical knives. So am i a mall ninja?

Im also a combat veteran and i have slip joints and fillet knives as well. My most used knife is an old Ontario RAT-3.

I thought people came to this forum to discuss their love of cutlery down to scissors, So why the whining and crying? Makes me think someones avatar puppy put his eye out with that pea shooter.

The whole zombie theme comes from the guys drinking and making swords for fun and saying "you could kill zombies with this thing all day!" It just grew from there. It's just a theme they enjoy and like to have fun with.

Weathered look and acid etching on the blades gives them a lot of character. They're supposed to look beat up and old. Some like it, some don't. Personal taste. Grow up. They still function fine, though. Most of their swords are cut from quarter inch 5160, so they're definitely able to take abuse.

A lot of people, including me, seem to have a problem with the aluminum handles on some of their blades. But really, is a couple slabs of hard G10 or micarta really that much better? I know not everyone uses soft rubber grips on all of their knives. If it's really a problem, they'll probably do something else for you. They've done leather wraps, paracord wraps, etc.

Here's a video of some of the guys talking about themselves.

So what about the knives?

Seem like good choppers-- 5160 steel with cool profiles: I'd probably opt out of the Jackson Pollock treatment on the blades, but otherwise don't seem bad to me. I've never had a problem with aluminum handles.

"The Reaper" seems a little impractical to me:

What?!?! Zombies aren't real?!?!

They have some interesting designs.

I own a Squid Axe and a Reaper.

I bought them mainly because no one else had done any reviews of any of their products.

I was going to chime in here, but with the way this thread is, no one would see it with all the insults flying back and forth.

Maybe I'll start a new thread with my ideas on their quality and ask that only people with experience with their products give opinions...
