Zombies attack!

I really liked "28 Days Later", almost soley because of the scene where the black lady chops the white guy with the machete. That was a great scene.

The original "Evil Dead" was scarier than either "Night of the Living Dead."

"Hide and Creep" was funnier than "Shaun of the Dead."

"Dead Alive" was released in several edited versions as well as the hard to find "uncut" version.

I'd use a swing blade, I call it a Kaiser balde. Or maybe sharp lawn mower blade. If its good enough for Karl, its good enough for me. MMMM
And dats da zombie trufe.

There has clearly been to much disinformation from the pro zombie media.
The only info that can be trusted is from "World War Z". In the book it clearly states that it takes a good head shot or decap to kill one. Dogs are also usefull.
Obviously the best tool for zombie deanimation is the enfield rifle with sword bayonet. A sword bayonet one the end of a solid rifle has leverage and distance as well as the ability to take aimed head shots at great distance. A samurai sword like my Cheness uis a good choice if you live somewhere you can't own a military rifle.

Most low budget zombie movies are crap.

If you can find it (don't know if it was ever released on DVD), an old horror flick from the 80s called Night of the Creeps was amusing. Alien brain parasites turn fratboys into zombies that must be DESTROYED!!!

One zombie is killed with a lawnmower! :D
Fratboys => Zombies....isn't that rather redundant? ;)

something like this would work GOOOD

Actually, I would go with the Zombie Survival guide to be the most comprehensive zombie scenario book (written by same author as WWZ, I have both)

Machete all the way for me.

For the thinking man, there is only one possible answer to this silly scenario.

My blade of choice?

The rapidly spinning one found on the front of the first plane out.

Initially I was thinking that a pair of 8 or 10 lb battle axes wielded Conan style are good for lopping into hordes with. Like Conan, you just build up a pile of bodies around you, then take a break while the next wave upile the bodies, then start again.

Then I got to thinking about the gore factor ala 28 days later, and now I am thinking that a Naginata would be preferable. For a polearm, it was the most effective of the bunch, as much for the guys that wielded them as for the quality of the implement itself. If the fight gets in tight, then I would have to go to my AK 47, being careful to avoid open wound exposure.

Firearms have a drawback in that eventually you run out of ammo. Between a bayonet on a rifle and a katana, I think the Katana would be preferable. Rifles make poor melee tools.

Lopping heads seems to be the most common form of dispatching zombies across all the gendres, so I will stick with a Katana style edged weapon or a battle axe if it has to be in close.

I love this thread as well.
The enfield with the sword bayonet is a pole arm. If you have ever held one it has some serious leverage and the rifle is a solid 4 footchunk of wood and steel
with a real 2 and a half foot sword on the end. Even without the 303 shells coming out the end it is an amazingly effective weapon. Heck it even has a metal buttstock in case you get funky and want to bash a zombies head in rather than shoot or decapitate it.

Make mine the Ranger Knives, Mach~Axe No.3
Lapin2.jpg

Is that a small dog?

I own a 15" overall Himalayan Imports Sirupati and an Ontario Bagwell Midnight Bowie. I suppose either one could do the job - just depends which one is easier to grap at the time.

On 2nd thought,(I've put a lot of thought into this;) I would go with my 20" Ang Khola khukuri

after reading this thread, I finally decided to buy all the zombie movies i have wanted to buy. thanks a lot :p

I would go with a Busse AK47 or the Argonne Assault. when those zombies get in close, you just gotta punch their heads in.

Swinging a big heavy khukuri or machete sounds tiring  wait... not that kind of tiring
