ZT 0200 Three Knife Givaways!

I give up...I'm going to take my ZT 0200 and go play with it while I'm watching Scrubs on TV.:D. I sure hope this "voting" mess gets worked out somehow while I'm gone.:(.

What i find amazing is that when i tried to register on the Spyderco forum to make them feel just a little ashamed for "rigging" the votes for their man,......i found my email address was banned and i couldn't register! Ummmmmm?

An automatic generated email from that forum stated the person in charge was unavailable till wednesday of next week,.....so it looks like i'm not getting on their site for awhile....................

Anyway,.... let them have their fun,.........

BTW,.... i hold no ill will against Daywalker for all this,.......he might even be a great guy! As i haven't seen any posts by him HERE,.....it's hard to know for sure.(but he's got a lot of voting friends,......THAT's for sure!)

I hope he doesn't approve of what dialex did here, however,.......by setting things in motion to rig a voting outcome!

Here is the link that glockman99 sent me outlining the reason for the influx of Daywalker's votes:

While I am a hardcore Spydie fan, I really do think this isn't quite right, he's a great guy and all, but doesn't do much here (kershaw forum) .....

Thank you sir,....you have honor and a conscience!

....some others may not. They know who they are.............:thumbdn:

BTW,....all you have to do is look at the bottom of the first post on this thread,.....and see where both STR and glockman99 dropped out of the voting.............

.......now there's an exibition in REAL CLASS! Proud of you both!!!

Alright everyone,........just to alleviate any bummy feeling some of the regular posters to the Kershaw forum may be getting about now,.......

......rest assured NO Kershaw regular (ie vote reciever), will be affected in the least by the skewed voting,............

Trust me on that,..... and enjoy the next week or so of voting..........:)

My vote is for Daywalker  because Chad would appreciate it like a knife user & designer could only do + he is a pretty cool guy : )

Geeze,..... all the class is right here on this forum..................;):)

I guess after voting nobody from "over there" reads the posts from "over here". :grumpy:

Just read the posts over at the Spyderco forum and it looks like a few of the folks over there are quite proud of themselves for causing consternation over here. Though it wasn't said, I felt it was implied that this was mainly a Kershaw Forum thing. Personly, I feel it should be a Kershaw thing, as what is being done just seems sorta underhanded.

I have read some of Chad/daywalker's posts and interactions in other forums, and he seems like a genuinely good guy, so I don't really doubt the sincerity of the people who voted for him. The way they are going about it though seems inappropriate, and I think casts him in a bad light.

That's kinda what i was thinking also,...........and i suspect some of the folks who voted did so without thinking about HOW they were going about it.....

.........almost reminds me of the mob mentality.

With all the support for Daywalker,.........i do believe he is most likely a great guy and fine choice of a deserving individual.

Just don't solicite votes with a lets get one over on-um mentality. THAT'S the wrong part of all this...............

If this was only open to Regulars on the Kershaw sub-forum of BF, that's cool. But it should have been plainly stated. The major restrictions were plainly stated. One vote each, BF account at least 3 months old. It's Bladeforum members voting for who they feel is deserving. It's not as though an outside group hacked into BF. If this is only supposed to be open to a select group of sub-forum members on BF, it should be so stated.

Essav, you have my vote!!

You are truly one of the good guysa..............

Look,....you can nit pick it all you want,.......i wasn't about to set it up thru a lawyer so that ALL of the possibilities could be covered. I was sure there might be members who were signed up on multiple forums,......and didn't want to rule anyone out.

But geeze,.....you've got members on the spyderco forum who have been signed up TWO Years with TWO Posts previously made,.......and then a third post being a vote for the guy you guys designated.

Doesn't that embarass you just a little bit?

......BTW,....the initial post on "your" forum seemed an incitation to a gang rape of the voters on this forum, which is where the problem started.

Your guys all seem to miss the "spirit" of this,....and seem pretty proud to be doing what you're doing so i won't sound surprised you don't see it that way.

That's the sad part of it.................

I think the issue is more with using another forum to solicit votes for a specific person.

These knives are beauties!! I have yet to see, touch and hold one but as soon as I can afford a ZT 0200 I am going to buy one!!

Despite if Daywalker is such a great guy or not, I still don't think it's right that Dialex made a thread on the spyderco forum for members to vote for Daywalker. I agree that if spyderco forum members ALL wanted to get Daywalker a knife, then they should all collect money to get him a knife. I think ALL of the votes for DayWalker should be disregarded and the knife given to someone who really deserves it for what he/she contributes to the kershaw forum or bladesforums.com in general.
That's just me though...

BTW,......if you look at the "rule" #2 that was outlined in the initial post(below),......i guess i could have prevented all this by simply have worded it a bit differently, such as:

".......been a member of the Kershaw Forum for at least 3 months......"
(hey,....i did ONLY post it on the Kershaw Forum, after all.....)

..........but you can plainly see the reason for a 3 month cutoff was to prevent the very type of thing that happened here,........a gang up of votes.

Hell,......I didn't vote because i felt i was too new to cast a meaningful vote,.....and we have several very few post voters swinging to someonly ONLY because there was a rally cry to rig a vote.

2) You have to have been a member for at least 3 months (from 8-28-07 and earlier) to vote,......otherwise we would be getting new signups for the express purpose of voting for friends,.....and if you haven't been a member for at least that time period your vote wouldn't mean as much anyway. (reasonable length of time on the forum equals an appreciation for the standouts!)
