ZT 0200 Three Knife Givaways!

I have no stake in this at all, but daywalker seems like a nice guy. Joe...you are the guy in charge and it seems, at least to me, that you are more concerned with getting good people good knives. That, in my eyes, is a noble effort.

Good luck and I hope daywalker enjoys the zt.

Best,
Brett

i meant no disrespect to anybody in this section of the forum, it kind of snowballed into doing something nice for a nice person. i am glad it got settled, and good luck to the winner. sorry.:o

Heheh,....yeah,...that time thing with you where you are.

I was writing my last post before going to work,....and i made myself about 10 minutes late and now i'm at work and yes,.....glad to meet you Chad,..

...............my name is Joe,...... and i'm a knifeaholic! Not looking to get sober neither! ;)

Also,.....i have already posted that what happens between us will not affect the Kershaw forum members,.......as 3 will still be given there.

But as a post mentions,......i do want to get these into the hands of great folks,,.......and you are for sure one of them!

So yes,....upon awakening PM me your local specifics,.............................

YOU DESERVE A ZT 0200! (or ZT 0200ST)

Aloha Joe,

Sir, you were KILLING me by not replying to my post! I saw ya lurking down there and kept hitting "refresh"...nope..."refresh"...nope...then right before I was gonna call it quits, *BAM*! See, if I could, I just wanted to go to bed knowing that there was "some kinda" closure on all of this.

Hey but uh...what do you mean you're "saddened"...Joe, my name is Chad, the only "newbie" to land both Spyderco and Boker simultaneously:rolleyes: and it's my pleasure to meet you. Cripes, I dunno if I should feel insulted or what! "Hey Chad, I'm Joe...sad to meet YOU!":p

Anyway, I do not have a ZT...WAAAAAAAAAAAY outta my price range and in truth, I have not gotten any new knives lately...however, I am not sure how the folks in this forum will feel about your decision, and do not want to subject you to any further "drama"...you been through enough already...

THAT being said, well...I appreciate your gesture, and it'd be an honor to receive the ZT for sure, but uh...well, "you know"...

Tell you what...I will check back here after some sleep, and let's see what happens based on your decision. You're a good guy Joe, and I said it even BEFORE your decision so if anyone thinks I am just brown nosing, forget it...if I was "that type", I'd have stripes in Hell...:barf:

Mahalo Joe, and thanks for "listening" to my post.
God bless!

Dear Sirs,

I am Dialex, the one that started the whole madness here. And I am (in part) very sorry for that. What I did was to play entirely by the rules of the game.
Neither me, nor the ones that casted their vote for Daywaler had no intention of cheating.
We are not the Spyderco bad guys who came to kick @$$ here at Kershaw's Forum. It is very wrong to think this way. In fact, we are in the same team. We are all long time members here at Bladeforums (and at other Forums as well). We are supporting the Forum(s); with our presence, with our posts and with our money. Most important, we all love knives.
Try to put the problem from a different angle: you here (and me) know how great Kershaw knives are. You have Kershaws, I have Kershaws. You have positive experiences with Kershaw, so do I (it's easy to see).
If one of you gets a ZT - well, he'll get what he expects for - no big surprise here. I give you a Kershaw, you give me a Kershaw.
But what if an "outsider" - someone who loves knives, but for various reasons is not aware, or not interested, or simply lacks the proper information about Kershaw - gets a ZT? I think he will have a conversation piece - to say the least. And a positive experience to share.
Besides, they say the more the merrier. I think it's a good thing to attract as many people at the Forum - or to a particular section at the Forum. Even those who don't visit that often the Kershaw section will remember this contest. I suspect they'll come here again. ;) The Kershaw community will grow stronger.
Kershaw and Spyderco worked together (you know the SpyKer). Why should it be a difference between their forumites?
And, face it: it was surprise. It was excitement. It was anger. IT WAS FUN! :)
You have already seen that Daywalker is a fine guy and he definitely deserves a ZT.
And me... I'd like to apologize to those who have been bothered by my intervention and to thank you for the fun and for your integrity.
Thank you and have a great weekend.
Alex

Joe I'm another guy from the Spyderco forum and just wanted to thank you for the class you have shown dealing with this. As Sal says "All good just different"

I don't really know what occured here and don't much think its worth going back for at the moment to find out but based on what I have read I think my original thoughts on a voting were accurate.

We saw that magazine thing go all haywire when the Busse fans started multiple voting for Busse when it was supposed to be one vote per person and it came to mind as soon as I saw how this one was going down.

I think personal feelings should be by the wayside in giveaways myself and the ones I've done on my forum and other forums with knives I either made or rebuilt, which total five contests so far have all gone smooth as silk with no problems at all by picking a number and having people pick between 1 and another high number. I stipulate that it will go to the person whos guess comes closest to the number I picked without guessing over that number and I send a private message to Spark or to Sal, or the admin on the forum I run it on before the contest starts so I have a third party that can back it up that no foul play was going on.

Is there a more creative way to run a contest? Oh sure. But why jumble it full of nonsense? It should just run smoothly and if its faster, easier and better that way, well whats wrong with that? Just my two cents worth.

Thanks dialex for stopping by,.......and yes,....there SURE was some excitement over here of late!:D

I'm really glad it's all settled out right about now,........sure got the adrenalin pumping for awhile.........................

Fact is most knife guys are pretty good sorts of folk,......with a sense of humor to boot. Real "cut-ups" at times, and i've got the scars to prove it! (I ain't lying about that!)

I also take some blame here,.....for not outlining every possibility,.... and that's the reason i didn't want to just dump out Daywalker's votes.

All is well now i hope............

gotta give you props on all of this Joe. you have handled it far better than most of us (kershaw forum or elsewhere) would have.

Ok...After reading Daywalker's posts in this thread, I've "calmed down" a bit, and no-longer harbor any hard feelings, RE: the "Spyderco forum votes" cast for Daywalker. I think that he SHOULD receive one of the ZT 0200 folders that joejeweler has put up as gifts, so......Why not just end this now, and award the 3 ZT 0200/0200ST folders to the top 3 vote getters? :

Daywalker
Offsetlover
Kershawguy

You 3 guys will LOVE your ZT 0200/0200ST folders...I REALLY love mine!...
(Now, if I can just get my hands on a "Mini-ZT 0200"...:D.:D.).

Hello JoeJeweler,

I really like the engraving job you did on that Spyderco knife it is trully a work of art thank you for sharing it with us.

I am kinda flattered you chose to refer to me in one of your posts because I must be the guy you called out in your comment for this >>> another his 3rd post in all of 2 years,....ever!<<<

And it "seemed" kinda funny that one individual posted his very 1st POST for a vote in this giveaway,.....another his 3rd post in all of 2 years,....ever!

Yes so 3 posts in 2 years I am not much of a talker or typer & if I dont have anything to add then I dont.

I was glad to read you changed your mind about Daywalker aka Chad Los Banos & now since thats all over I would like to pay it forward to you.

I would like to give you free of charge my personal 2006 Spyderco Forum Knife only 140 of them were made & it is the C110P Spyderco Lava designed by Chad aka Daywalker.

100_0352.jpg

It is from my personal collection & I just took these photos of it & this knife still has the plastic covering on it it is mint.

I think you will like this Lava knife I know I do ( I have 2 regular production model Lava's also one that I EDC) & it has plenty of room left for you to do some more engraving work like your other Spydie has.

If you are interested in it then please send me your name & mailing info to my email address georgemaggos@cs.com If you dont want it or cant accept it then I understand & keep up the good work here I will be back.

This is not some kind of joke or ruse I am dead serious about this offer I am making you for this knife & I will fullfill my end of it.

So Joe let me know what you want to do :)

Thank You,
George

i love this group :D :D :D so generous all around and so kind. nice gester(sry if i spelt that wrong, u get the idea) there george.

OK,....if there are no objections,.....if i end this early i would want to give a knife to the following:

The top 4 vote getters being Daywalker, Offsetlover, Kershawguy,.....

.....& becuase there is only 1 vote separating 4th & 5th place,.....with the rest of the voting totals involving only 1 or 2 votes,.....

......Esav Benyamin,...... and nygiantsfan3342. That makes a total of 5 knives,.....but ending early would possibly shortchange the 5th place holder and i know Jeremy does a lot with the passaround.

......so since i didn't feel i should vote in all this,........i sort of get to put mine in anyway! :D

If there are any objections,.......?

.........then take them up with a moderator! :D:D:D

VOTING HAS ENDED..........................Thanks to all who participated!

George,.....i don't know what to say! I just went back at work here and got to read your post and i MUST say i would be honored to accept your gift.

Somehow a treasured knife from a personal collection means more to us knife "nuts" than a lot of other replacable trinkets,.......and i'll look at it as your offering part of your soul to me!

You are a gentlemen,......but really should post a bit more! ;)

Thank you so much!!!

Being a relative newcomer and after reading all the posts, I was hopeful that JoeJeweler would be offered a Spyderco. Kudos to georgemaggos.

Interestingly, all the Spyderco forum members who voted for Daywalker could have simply pooled their money and purchased him a knife. I don't know if that would have been a feasible idea as I'm still a pen, paper, and book man and not very tech savvy. I can't type either, so that limits my posting considerably.

I'm not trying to stir things up again, but I think it may have been a more meaningful gesture to Daywalker if the knife were coming from the Spyderco forum members.

Anyway, I am impressed by the generosity and civility of this forum. The only other forum that I participate in is The Firing Line, which is a firearms forum, as I have been handgun shooting since July 1993.

Out of curiosity, how do you determine if someone belongs to a particular sub-forum? Is the number of posts specific for each specific forum?

I hope I have not offended anyone especially since a Spyderco is on my short list of future knives. Also, is there a particular reason that there is no Benchmade forum? I realize not every knife maker has a sub-forum on BladeForums, and I am simply curious how they get created.
