Zt 0392 BRNGLD!

I just sent my 0932 off to KAI after having it a total of 12 hours. Let's see what they have to say, it should arrive Thursday. Hopefully it doesn't take 6 weeks like the warranty form says.

Does anyone have any experience with KAI's warranty service? When they eventually call and say your knife is "within tolerance" do I have an option for a refund? Thanks for your input guys.

I have had warranty work performed and it only took a couple weeks. I can't say as to the refund; that would be a good question to ask the folks at Kai -

Good luck!

Thanks for all your feedback mqqn and others. I just wanted a kick ass edc knife that was special. I will stay positive and hope that KAI will take care of the issue.

Baller, Yes. The filler tabs are also different than what ZT has shown on their website. Mine do no have much of gold tone if any.

New to the forum. Does this get me access to the cool kids section?

Grateful to be one of the lucky few who got one of these. This knife is a masterpiece of construction and materials, flawlessly executed. I added the Hinderer bronze titanium over-travel stop for aesthetics. It doesn't match perfectly, but I still prefer it to the plain one. My favorite part of this knife is the multicolor anodization that can be seen on the inside of the lock bar. Knife porn! Thank you to ZT and Rick Hinderer for continuing to make products for enthusiasts, even the ones who don't post on forums.

I received mine before the shipping notice e-mail got to me, but I live in the Pacific NW and paid for expedited shipping.

The one I got is awesome, just downright great. I'm very happy with it. Fit & finish is superb.

Just talked to elizabeth simon at kai. They are going down the list and refunding shipping to those who paid for expedited shipping and got ground. I also sent her pics of my hardware and the person who deals with that gets back in town from china next week. Kai is always good at taking care of issues and i respect their dedication to customer service.

I bought the knife based on the pics on ZTs website. My clip and filler tabs are a dark stonewash, far from gold. I didnt buy the knife to drop another $60 on hardware.

That's too bad - do you have some pictures of this that show how bad the color difference is?

I have not seen one in person so I can't visualize what you are seeing.

I posted some yesterday. On this page of the thread. Hover your cursor over them and they ll blow up. Thanks

I apologize - I missed those -

in that lighting it does look decidedly different than the spacer screws, but it also looks like the same colors in the post from member Stkh22 in post 290 - some of the pictures there show that the filler tab and pocket clip look similar to yours -

What I would say is that if you are dissatisfied with the color of the filler tab and pocket clip, then I would contact Kai to see what their take on it is -

I am sorry you aren't satisfied with your knife because of this, but aside from the color difference, how do you like the 392? It is one of my favorites from ZT, since it feels so good in hand and it cuts so well - my two 392s have seen a fair amount of cardboard cutting duty and they are really great.

My original version had some fittings that were more blue than others, but I just figured it was due to the anodizing abilities at Hinderer, since Kai did not make those parts.

I hope that Kai was able to get some spare fittings for these knives for warranty claims where necessary.
