ZT 0392 release day on 2/18!

Wish I would have kept that info to my self now... I wasn't thinking. Sorry every body... I sure hope we can all get one who actually wants one...

ZT is killing me... I suppose I will just have to get into CRK or maybe lionsteel instead of always wanting what I'll never get... I my preorder for a 0562cf was a joke, but luckily I scored one from a dealer after I realized I wasn't going to get mine through my preorder...I'm still a sub $500 knife guy but my biggest issue is i like to have pairs of everything just in case something happens... Plus I'd like to have a copy of each knife to pass down to my boy as he gets older...
 
It's all good, not your fault at all. I'm sure the serious flippers were already watching that auction, and waiting for the release as much as the rest of us have, maybe more.

We'll find out the details on the 17th. I'd bet the regular big ZT dealers have already been getting a lots of calls asking about how this is going to work and probably a few inquiring about getting preferential treatment. Hard to say if the dealers even know who's getting them yet, but if they do, you can bet people already know who's going to get them and how their sales are going to work.

It would be great if we all could get one for MSRP, but sadly the nature of limited edition means we probably won't. I'd love to have one, but I sure won't pay $1500 for one. I'd even pass at $500 but I have no doubt they will easily sell like hot cakes for more $. Unless numbers released are approaching 1000+ and if the past is an indicator there's no way that's happening.
 
It's going to be very interesting to see who gets them. It will also be interesting to see whether the dealers will give any advance notice of the time they'll be available for purchase. I'd love to have one but am not optimistic.
 
Don't let those auctions dishearten you. When KAI lotto'd 10 0454s at Blade, some popped up on that site and sold for $1300+

When they got released, the initial pop was 800-900 and quickly settled down to 600-700.
 
Perhaps the previous auction didn't go through, buyer/seller backed out, etc. I suppose it's not impossible that someone used friends, business/home addresses/accounts etc. and had multiple failed purchases in the 0454 sale and ended up with multiple 0392 vouchers as well, but it seems pretty darn unlikely.

It doesn't surprise me at all that others have put theirs up for sale though. We have no idea how many of these vouchers were given to those with problems from the 0454 sale. If you thought you could get $1500 for one that's pretty tempting, especially if you are not in love with it.

There's a very small window right now for those that have 0392's and want to sell before the sale on the 18th. We have no idea how many will be for sale, where, when (aside for sometime on the 18th), or how easy/hard it's going to be to get one. I'd imagine those with 0392's in their hands that want to sell before the 18th are going to get the highest prices now. We saw the same thing with the 0454's that were sold from the lottery at Blade before they were released.
 
Prices are usually hot and heavy the first few weeks and they start to level off for the LE knives...
 
I am gestimating that that dealer prices will be between $300 and $425.We are speculating and don't know if more batches be produced throughout the year.I hope this one rolls like the 0560CBCF We really don't know how it is going to roll quite yet....

How is it in pocket? Is it easy to pull out of pocket?

I like the clip - the look of it, it is a little departure from other ZT style clips -

Carries really well, you don't even notice the heft. Pulls out of the pocket smooth, the clip is excellent, I like it better than the typical ZT clips. It's much less massive feeling than the 0561 or 0550.

I certainly hope not above the MSRP of $375. MAP is $300. So, hopefully, between $300 and $375. Personally, above MSRP will be from "extortionary" dealers.
 
I haven't had the courage to take mine apart yet, but looking inside at the pivot, it seems like they've switched to a caged bearing instead of the old plastic-encased bearing. I wonder why.

My guess would be to accommodate either a)the Hinderer pivot or b) the holes for tip down carry.
 
I never really did get the "buy only from our site" gig. When you have a dealer network set up, then release special products only direct from the manufacturer, you lose the loyalty of your dealers. In my industry (office equipment), I've had manufacturers go the way of "buy direct", and as a dealer, I have no desire to market and push their product any longer. I just shift my attention (and that of my customers) to something else.

I really like ZT, and have spent way too much money on their products. But I just don't get into the games.
