I think if you have the equipment coming you are in for a surprise. Please come back and tell us how easy it is to match colors.

Well I've done up a few knives and I'll tell you what, It's pretty easy to get consistent colors. In fact I'm pretty sure the blue on the 0392 hardware is achieved with 33-35 volts. I got the titanium slabs on my 0801 to look almost identical at 33 volts. I think they actually are identical but the differences in the finish make it hard to tell.

Got my Ti Milli a nice royal purple.

And for your viewing pleasure....

Really nice job! If you don't mind me asking, how much is it to get an anodizing rig setup?

A couple hundred bucks. Unless you want to try the 9V battery method. I never tried that way but it should work pretty easily. Just know what power you need for the color you want.

Awesome work Al, how bout posting a link to your new equipment. Give us prospects something to go on, thanks. Oh, and your color match for the 0392 hardware is right on in my book!

I'm not sure if that would break any forum rules. Deal spotting, non vendor, etc...... Just do a google search for titanium anodizing equipment. They use titanium for chain mail and some people anodize it.

Thanks, I'll check it out.

al g blenny, did you have to use multi-etch first or did you anodize it directly? I'm exploring this multi-etch option but finding it pretty expensive if I buy it for and use it infrequently.

What does everyone think of their 0392?

I feel like it offers more (blade steel, fit and finish, ball bearing pivot, custom parts and overall feel) for the money than any of my other $400 folders. I do not understand how this thing missed out on "Overall Knife Of The Year" at Blade.
