So I've had my 0452cf for just over a week now, and I have to say it flips better with a little break in.
When I first got it, it did have a seriously strong detent. After the first day of flipping this thing my index fingers were so sore that I was seriously concerned about the future status of this knife in my collection, but I kept at it. After about 4 days of flipping, I noticed an improvement. And it got better over the next couple of days, and seemed to settle in. Now for the last couple of days it has been just right, and has not changed.
I would say that now it is right where it should be; its firm, yet easy to flip with no danger of becoming too weak. It retains the blade firmly, and flips easily, but with attitude. Also, I now don't have to concentrate as much on finger placement on the lock bar when flipping, as even if I am resting my fingers on the lock bar it will still flip open, yet I cannot shake the blade open from the closed position, even with a hard wrist flick.
