Zt 0452cf

Does anyone know of a NON deep carry clip in titanium or stainless that will fit this knife? I want it to stick out of my pocket a bit more for easier access. Im not a fan of deep carry at all, makes getting a good grip from the pocoet more difficult. This is the first knife ive bought from ZT in a very long time. I have not been their biggest fan as of late, but this model ticks my uses boxes.
Thanks!

I don't want to link to Gnoleb's Ebay store because even though he's a paying maker here, I'm pretty sure that's against the rules. If you do a quickie search for "blue4you2010", you'll find him. He has replacement clips for 0801's which should fit this knife, some of which are not low-riders.

Agreed, at least for a knife this big. I can live with it so far though. I may give the Gnoleb clip a try, just to see if it's an improvement over the small stock clip at least.

Just put my Gnoleb clip on, very nice! Totally worth the money. I agree, seems to be a much better fit for the knife. It sticks out a little farther, but I still like it better than the stock clip.

could you possibly post a picture of the clip on the knife? if its the one i found on gnolebs page it looks like the end of the clip may fall into the lockbar cutout. he does not list a length measurement for the clip on his page unfortunately.
thankyou.

Sure, apologies for the lighting, these were quick snapshots:

Hope these help, I couldn't quite get the best angle in my quick shots. The clip doesn't fall into the lockbar cutout at all; a bit of the flat part of the clip end is resting on the frame outside of the lockbar cutout.

So I've had my 0452cf for just over a week now, and I have to say it flips better with a little break in.

When I first got it, it did have a seriously strong detent. After the first day of flipping this thing my index fingers were so sore that I was seriously concerned about the future status of this knife in my collection, but I kept at it. After about 4 days of flipping, I noticed an improvement. And it got better over the next couple of days, and seemed to settle in. Now for the last couple of days it has been just right, and has not changed.

I would say that now it is right where it should be; its firm, yet easy to flip with no danger of becoming too weak. It retains the blade firmly, and flips easily, but with attitude. Also, I now don't have to concentrate as much on finger placement on the lock bar when flipping, as even if I am resting my fingers on the lock bar it will still flip open, yet I cannot shake the blade open from the closed position, even with a hard wrist flick.

In all, I'm very happy with how it has broken in, and it will be a keeper and a user.

Plus it makes great sounds when flipping.

SsssssssniCK! :D

Thanks man for the pics, im interested in a non deep carry clip that he has. I didnt realize you bought the deep carry clip. The problem i have with this knife is getting it from the pocket with the tiny clip and the length i basically have to pinch the back of the knife and then shuffle it to get to the flipper. Its going to wind up on the pavement one day when it slips from my hands. They should have used the non deep carry clip of the 0450 on this model and this clip on the 0450. I dont have a clue what made them use this clip. Deep carry just doesnt make sense to me, especially for a knife this long. That is why Sal at spyderco made the military tip down and used a clip where the knife would stick out about 5/8" from the pocket. Makes for much quicker deployment. If they made this knife tip down with a non deep carry clip, i would never need to buy another knife. The knife is fantastic otherwise, aside from this one major (to me) problem. Enjoy your knives Guys. This knife has redeemed ZT in my mind. I have quite a few issues with other ZTs mechanically prior to this i had given up on ZT. So cudos to you ZT if youre reading this.

I didn't realize he had a non-deep carry. I just wanted a clip with more length. Honestly, I haven't had too much of a problem with this Gnoleb clip though, I typically use the tip or first knuckle of my middle finger against the end of the clip or in the bend of the clip, and my thumb on the scale when drawing. Doesn't require much if any re-positioning the thumb and the index ends up positioned right on the flipper. Even though the knife carries deeper, I feel it's an easier draw with the longer clip length. Our hands could be sized differently though. When you get your non-deep carry, post pics though, I would try it on mine to see if I like it better.

That pretty much mirrors my own experience.

Will do, i am actually thinking about drilling and tapping the knife for the 0450/0808 clip for tip down RH carry. Im ordering a second 0452 and am going to do this i think.

So...
When are we going to see another run of the 0452CF?
I've had a pre-order for what seems like forever.

Preorders are not a good option. Better to keep your eyes peeled on various sites and snag one when they pop up.

I purchased two 0562CF's from sites that they popped up on and later found out that people had them on pre order on the same sites and they weren't fulfilled.

So basically the dealer was selling them to first come first served instead of allocating them to pre orders.

Good luck in finding one!!

I've already got a user, just want a pretty one to look at. :D
And I've made the mistake of ignoring the pre-order I forgot I already had and buying another.
Definitely wound up with some multiples that way.
Gotta stop drunk ordering knives....

WooHoo!!! Snagged one. It'll get here Wednesday.

HikingMano, I'm interested in the deep pocket clip and it seems to work on the knife. If I understand you correctly, I'm to search for that username on that other website, and look in his store for a clip for the ZT801?
