Zt 0452cf

Is there a clip that makes the carry somewhat deeper?

I would love to have a full deep carry clip (like my 0562CF) so that the knife completely disappears in pocket.

Also, has anyone looked at the contact t he lockbar makes with the back of the blade in the open position? Mine doesn't engage the full surface, but only the edge of the lockbar actually contacts the back.

I have this exact issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0cC-EJh4pD8

This is most likely due to what I tried describing with my lock bar face not engaging the full surface of the back of the knife...

Looks like it's going back to ZT for repair.

I don't think you are having the same issue as in the video and what you are describing. It would help,if you could take some photos of the issue you are having.

I am having the exact same issue as the guy in the video with his 0452CF, we are only a few numbers apart with our S/N.

If you watch closely, you can see that his lockbar insert is also only contacting the back of the blade only in the corner, that is, the lockbar face has a different angle than the back of the blade.

See pic of my contact surfae:

And pics of what happens after pressure on lockbar:

Yeah your lock-bar insert in the first picture looks jacked up, almost like it was put in backwards. Or at least ground backwards, the angle is definitely off.

Thanks for the photos, sure looks like the issue. I tried what the person in the video did with his but I couldn't replicate it,with my 0452. Very interested to see what the issue is and the remedy.

Are steel lockbar inserts really necessary? I've yet to see it.

Are $200 knives really necessary? Are any of the things discussed here at BFC really necessary? Not really but that's why we are knife nuts.

A Ti lock bar can be cut wrong just as easily as a steel insert can :)

Got mine too and it's a beauty!

A couple of pics with company...

Quick shipping from Matt D Tactical btw...

Cool! Interesting that you threw in the Emerson Persian for comparison. I've noticed The reverse thumb ramp and swedge kind of trick the eye into looking like the blade is upswept on the 0452cf. Congrats on a sweet knife!

I can second the fast shipping from Matt D.

Yeah, I more threw in the Persian for size, but I remember someone mentioning the upsweep of the 0452 as being persian-like. When I got it, was easy to see that is not the case!

It's actually more apparent (to me at least) when you have the blade half open. The little curve of the stop pin seat adds to the illusion.

Haven't purchased a "new to me" production knife in a loooong time (I did finally replace a Para2 I sold a while back and missed, and finally picked up a ZDP-189 Delica), but the ZT0560BW and this 0452CF are just too damn sexy to pass up. I thought I was going to get the 0560 first since I've been in love with the XM-18 from back when I first joined the forum, but this 0452CF has been gnawing at me steadily. So, I just ordered one from KershawGuy :), hope it proves to be as awesome as it seems to be.

I wish a G10 version was made with S35VN to keep to similar price-point. Never used a CF scaled knife before so I hope I don't find it too slippery. Has that been a problem for anyone?

I think you will love it, I too wish ZT would come out with a g10 scale for th 0452. I haven't found the cf to be slippery at all.

Good to know, thanks. That was my only real reservation. Well, that and I haven't EDC'd a 4" folder in forever, ever since I sold my orange Military (stupid). I've found 3-3.5" to be a pretty good EDC sweet spot for me; if I can't do the length, I'm sure I won't have a problem off-loading...

I had the same worry about it being slippery. But I was wrong, it has just enough texture to stay firmly seated in the hand.
