Zt 0454

I hope they make enough for everyone.

I wish, but doubt they will. It's a shame given I don't think there are other production knives that fit into the category of knives like the 0777, 0888, Kershaw Tilt, etc. given the degree to detail that is almost an obsession as it's such a ridiculous level of attention paid that most production knives aren't anywhere near. The 0454 looks to be even more amazing than the (composite) 0777, and the fashion they are doing the composite blade can't be an easy or cheap process. They are damn good knives for actual usage...but to me they are also mechanical, engineering, and cosmetic works for art.

I am hoping KAI realizes that the demand for these LEs they make are not only huge, but actively spreading like syphilis, and they consider making more. Even if production figures will always stay low, I hope KAI continues to do these things because I feel they display a level of creativity/ingenuity that isn't normally associated with production makers, and to me that really defines KAI's talents.

The wait on the 0454 has, like the 0777, been painfully teasing of that awesome knife you must have but isn't available yet. But like the 0777, I expect the 0454 to deliver some serious WOW factor!

Lol at everyone jumping to conclusions because of he said she said information. Don't believe everything you hear :)

If more than 100 0777s and 0888s made it out of the factory, why would the 0454 be any different?

I think, like other people said, they had 100 built by Blade. Didn't mean they aren't going back to Oregon to build more.

Thanks real nice

Did you see any 0801BLK which would not be BlackWashed and just DLC?

The other two you mentioned are 0801BWCF and 0801BW?

I did not see, nor hear of a blackwash carbon fiber 0801 rexford, It's a unicorn. I believe he's refrencing the 2 other dealers who had brown wash carbon fiber 801's in their displays and meant BRW not BW ;). There were some cool 0801's there for sure though!

They've been sitting on this for over a year now?

They aren't sitting, they are damn busy all day evry day :D

This is a cool looking knife and all, but its a lot of money for a composite CPM D2 Sandvik 14C. Nothing wrong with those steels, I love D2, I just expect more from a high dollar knife.

Its CPM D2 is a better steel than regular D2. The crkt hi-jinx is the same price at the 0454 and comes with a steel very close to d2.

That's a hell of a knife man...

Hope they are considering a standard non limited version, maybe a good ol plain blade to ease up on labor. M390

my heart sank when I overslept on Saturday for the lottery...

The way I feel about this knife is like the way I feel about the others. If I don't get on the pre-order then I'll just have to skip it. No sense in playing the secondary market game.

I am so over the secondary market markup that unfortunately I just look at these and ignore them.if the 392 turns out this way,il just keep walking.the 562 is the only one I know ill be able to buy without getting gouged...
