You know I never even thought of that when I ordered the carbon fiber at 100 dollars. I wonder if I sell the knife will someone pay 300 dollars for it.

I got my new carbon fiber scales in the mail today and I wasted no time installing them. I think they look pretty sweet.

Thats like what I was hoping for originally. Something in that color I mean. I got my scale today. Its G11 if I'm not mistaken?? Translucent green anyway. The color is right but I thought olive drab was going to be dark more like this one shown here? Anyway, if this is not the one I wanted its what universe wanted me to have and I see Rick signed the underside of this one. That was unexpected but a nice surprise. I thought at first I was not going to like this color or translucency but once installed it sure looks nice! I must admit its light years ahead of the original in looks! I'm keepin' this one!

Anyone get the blue/black or green/black G10 yet? Oh and those frag scales look very nice.
 
I guess it's a case of 'not everything is for everyone', but I liked the original pattern of the 0551's scale - and even it's color. I was thinking about a CF scale - if it looked as neat - and three dimensional - as my Benchmade 480-1 Shoki's CF scales. It doesn't - and I didn't pay that much more for that knife - including two scales, some Ti, and a neat Bohler M390 blade - than the CF scale sells for - gads. Of course, either of my stock 0551's could eat the little Shoki as an appetizer...

I am glad the different scales are available. I'll keep my eye open for a huge discount, of course... but I'll wager they 'fly away' quite well as they are.

Does anyone have a picture of the 0551 with a Hinderer OD scale? I'm not talking about the Monkey Edge Frag pattern as posted above; I've seen that one and it looks great but I'd like to see how the regular Hinderer pattern looks as well.
