ZT 0600 Feedback?

I was tired of waiting for my preorder (Knife Center) and found a dealer that had 2 in stock, I only bought one and had to pay $100 more than my pre order, but now I know I'll get one, It took 8 pages of google, but I found one. I am one determined sonamagun.

Congratulations on getting a 0600, when will yours arrive?

Mine arrived late yesterday (serial #0106) and everyone here was right, it certainly does feel very nice in hand and this thing is built like a tank. Love all the machining they did on the titanium, even the clip looks great.

The 0600 is very different than ANY other knife I own, the vast majority of my folders are Ken Onion designs with taller blades like the ones found on knives like the 030X series. I'm leaving mine alone, other than holding it some to get a feel for it as I try and decide if its going to be a catch and release or possibly turn into my new favorite EDC...I do love a big, kinda heavy folders with recurve blades.

Gotta see if I can get use to the slimmer profile before I'll use it to cut anything...I did slice one of the foam peanuts that came in the box...it sliced the foam pretty well considering the thick spine.

Anyone re-profile theirs one something like a Wicked Edge yet? I'm very curious as to what angle of the factory edge angle is on this beast. I see that the paperwork that comes with it says 18-22 degrees per side.

I like my 0600. It's the closest that KAI has come to recreating an actual RJ custom due to design and materials used. It is large, but it carries well and flips quite nicely. If I did not carry an RJ custom then I would definitely carry the 0600.

I profiled mine to 23 degrees per side due to that being the closest i could get to the original edge. I personally feel it holds up beautifully

Great, what did you use to reprofile the blade (Wicked Edge, Edge Pro?) and how tough was the steel to sharpen?

Thanks so much, I was very curious to know if anyone had changed the edge profile or just sharpened it and what the B75P was like to work with. The last blade I reprofiled was a CPM-154 SMF, I took it down to 20 degrees per side using just a Sharpmaker with the diamond rods and then worked my way up to the Ultra fine ones. To say it took a long time would be an understatement but it turned out very nice and now I simply keep it sharp with a strop.

I just received a new strop, the NoMomma from Stropman and its sweet...highly recommended and the owner is a super nice guy to do business with.

Thanks again.

Are there less 0600s than 0777s out there?

I'm curious about that as well, I've gotta think that they're more 0600's out there yet I ordered one just a week ago and the serial number on mine is 0106. Of course, that doesn't mean that they didn't manufacture nearly a thousand of them but I've seen less written here about the ZT0600 than pretty much any ZT that has already hit the market. Its possible that they plan to make a lot more 0600's and are simply going to release them in batches.

The overall look of the ZT0600 is very different than those that were collaborations with either Rick Hinderer or Ken Onion and it didn't really grab my attention at first but the more I looked at it the more I liked it. If you're use to and love the overall look, aesthetics of the 030X series it can take time to get use to the more streamline look of the 0600...at least it did for me. Now that I've have the knife and gotten use to the feel of it I'm SO glad that I bought one.

Is everyone pleased with the B75P blade steel? I wasn't sure at first if mine was going to be a catch and release type situation so the only thing I've cut with it is a foam peanut from its shipping box. Not exactly hard core use...

Well the 0600s were in the 300~350 range in terms of serial numbers reported. As for the 0777 (yes I wish I could get one ), not sure how many original were made but I think it's 250 M390 and 250 M390DLC. I definitely could be wrong about this.

I saw a serial number in the 600's on YouTube so I knew there had to be more out there...not sure how I ended up with a lower number just last week.

Mine wasn't flipping as well as I had expected and I was chalking it up to that thick blade but then I loosened the pivot...I turned the Torx nut about 1/16" of a inch to the left and BAM!..now its smooth a silk and just flies out of the handle. When they're putting these together they don't have all day to sit there and tune the pivot absolutely perfect or they'd never get them kicked out.

Mine has a strong detent but I like that, I have a BM Skirmish that will open in my pocket at times and if you hold it up horizontally with the blade facing down and gently shake it just a bit the blade will always fall free from the handle. ZT did a fantastic job with the 0600. Its sweet.

Congrats on yours. I totally love mine. As for serial numbers, I didn't see any that high.

I think it is a very good knife and you will really enjoy it. It flipper has a very smooth action and then knife just looks sexy.

I'm trying to find that video again...ya got me second guessing myself, at the time I wasn't paying that much attention to the serial number (but thought I saw six hundred and something) and was more interested in the feedback on the knife itself. Now I'm thinking that I may be mistaken, I'll look some more when I have time.

Either way, I'm liking the knife...it bite me, guess its mine now. :)

I love this knife ,it is big and a little heavy but it's as solid as a sleek tank,I never thought I would carry a knife this big, but it fits nicely in your pocket and soon I actually forgot I had it.
I used mine to cut up some meat and it did an excellent job still razor sharp, would buy this knife a duplicate if it wasn't so $$$.I had a preorder but I decided not to take any chances :D
