ZT 0770CF - A True Gentleman's Folder from Zero Tolerance

So, does anyone know if the lockbar is going to be carbidized? Also, anyone know of a site doing preorders at the moment?

Thanks!

So ZT's own website is wrong? http://zt.kaiusaltd.com/knives/knife/0770cf
"... An inset liner lock in titanium secures the blade without adding unnecessary weight."

I personally see no need for carbidizing. Proper lock geometry and design is more important IMO.

Well the website also says it's an LE knife, and we know it's not, so it may be wrong.

But now my hopes are up. I really hope I'm wrong, and it actually is Ti.

The website also says this.
"Pocketclip and backspacer are machined titanium for lightweight strength."
And if I remember correctly, the clip is steel, and it uses standoffs.

Where did you hear that the liner was steel?
Honestly, I would prefer steel but I'm sure titanium would work just fine.

Read my last comment please.
I think the website is wrong. The inset liner lock doesn't even look like Ti, it looks like steel.

Doesn't look like Ti to me. Too shiny, and silver..y

I wanted you to cite your source for the liner material information, hoping you had a recent post from a KAI representative. Sorry if I offended you.

I just watched the BladeHQ ZT booth review from Blade show, the Designer said that the liner is a "full 625 liner"

I googled 625 and it appears to be stainless. Can anyone confirm?

I'm not finding anything that can confirm. All they say, is it's a liner lock. But look at it this way, if it WERE a Ti liner lock, don't you think that would've been specified in almost all the reviews? The reason it's not specified, is because a steel liner lock is normal, and doesn't really need to be specified.

I've heard it somewhere, can't find the source though. No offence taken.

I've heard the same thing. Steel liners. There is at least one website taking pre-orders, and I had one on pre-order until they changed to carbon scales and the price went up. Then I cancelled my pre-order and pre-ordered the Thermite. That site's name starts with "knife" and it is a pretty big and popular site. I don't know if they a a sponsor here, so I'm afraid to post the site.

On the home page of ZT it says:
" Titanium insert liner lock secures the blade without unnecessary weight"

In the tech specs and information it says:
"The sweeping lines of the original 0777 are preserved in the lightweight carbon-fiber handle that fits securely in the hand. An inset liner lock in titanium secures the blade without adding unnecessary weight. Pocketclip and backspacer are machined titanium for lightweight strength. For a final touch of class, ZT adds a handsome oversized pivot."

I have no reason not to beleve it!
I personally think it will come with titanium pocket clip, backspacer and liner lock.
On the website where I pre-ordered the knife the same was mentioned.

Doesn't look like a machined pocketclip. Looks more like a standard metall clip. And I haven't seen a backspacer on the 0770cf, either.

Same thing I said. I hope I'm wrong, but I'm not saying anything else tell a rep chimes in.
