ZT 2018 LINEUP

For me, this is the last thing I want. The tiger-striped blades were the only lame bit I saw in those early ZTs. I was super glad they moved away from the whole super-slick operator vibe they tried to portray back then. Of course, they've gone too far towards art knives, now.

If I could make a wishlist for ZT it would be:

1) EDC-friendly knives. Not mall-ninja, tiger-striped silliness. Not wall-hanger, mult-grind silliness. Some more pops of color. Enough to make the knife fun without compromising the ZT house look.

2) Collabs. They already do a great job with this and should continue.

3) If you are going to do a sprint/LE version of an existing knife, so it Spyderco-style with different colors, finishes, AND blade steel.

4) If you are going to innovate do it with practical technology, not aestetics. A carbon fiber insert in a blade is dumb. A SLT opener is cool.

I think that's it.
Hahaaa guess that's the reason they make different ones! I have 10 zt's and my 350 is my favorite followed by my 301, I just love that Onion blade shape, I agree a lot of the stuff there making now is just art knives. The only one I bought this year was a 452ti.. Can't wait to see the new lineup

This guy right here is the reason knives get discontinued.
Boo!!!
Remember everybody, next time a knife you like gets discontinued, it's the fault of the guy quoted here.

;)

That's right, y'all. I'm accepting cash offers to keep your favorite old models in production, though.

At some point I’d like to see these as ZT regular production models:
  • 0452TI: This all titanium sprint run should become a new production model including the internally milled titanium
  • 0450SWCF: Just like the 0450 but CF on presentation side like the 0450CF
  • 0562TI: Just like the all titanium milled 0452TI with two models one with S35VN and the other 20CV both with internally milled titanium
  • Fixed blade (3" neck knife in M390/204P/20CV and a Bowie in 3V)
  • Automatic (regular and OTF) - I think the OTF would sell really well and give the likes of Benchmade, Microtech, Heretic, Piranha, Asheville Steel and Hogue a good run for their money.
  • Small flipper (2.99" blade length to be legal in more places, 0.12" thick blade, titanium frame lock, KVT and under 4 ounces) kind of like a XM-18 3”

More knives in M390, ELMAX and ZDP189. How abt some 4 inch wharncliffes? I'd like more in G10 or titanium with left and right carry. A few more with the Emerson Wave might be nice.

They could take at least 6+ of the sprint runs and make them a permanent resource. I can think of a dozen ZT's that I want but more than half were sprint runs.

All in 4 inch with the best steel available please: ZT 0392WC, ZT 0392BLUBOWIE, ZT 0392PURBLKWC, ZT 0450ZDP, ZT 0452, ZT 0560,

I’d buy those.

I really wish they’d go back to Elmax production knives.

0451 CF please.

The 0450 is too small but the 0452 is too large.

Maybe some limited editions on the 0920

milling out the TI scales is oke but don't take it too far, nothing wrong with a 9cm knife that weighs 150 grams or morem

Knives I would want ZT to Make:

0452T(tactical) - High Traction G10, Blackwash DLC or Black DLC coating, proper jimping.
0392BW - Production version of the 0392, DLC coated, hightraction G10 handle
ZT 0566 - with KVT & titanium handle.
Re-Run of the 0560BW.
A lightweight sub 5inch fixed blade.

Well I'm way behind in my ZT collecting, I did pick up a new ZT 301, a 0550, and a g-10 450 this year. Next year I'll probably get to the 2016 line up. I want the 095 and maybe an 804. The black DLC 0562 is something I want as well. I sure would like to see the ZT auto though.

I'd like to see more Emerson designs. It's looking more and more like the KAI-Emerson partnership is more about producing budget Emerson's, than about the ZT side. I really like the low dollar Kemersons, but I'd appreciate some options on the ZT side.

Yes on all of these! And the 3V bowie would be great too. I like the look of all Ti knives, but they are so slick I never carry them!

I'd like to see the 460 in a sprint with a different scale and a different steel

Love ZT, but the last few years they’ve lost me with their offerings. 560 and 562 are the last ZTs I’ve bought, but I would like that to change with the new lineup.

I wish the ZT150 would come back in 20CV or M390.

This!! Want!! Shut up and take my money. Are you listening ZT?

I’d just be happy with a 0566cf that uses titanium and KVT bearings. It’s a knife I’m dying for. Would be the perfect edc IMO.

A properly executed 0560 would be awesome to see. Every 0560 I handled had a weak detent making them unsafe to carry and lousy flippers. Other than that I loved it. For a big knife it really carried well.
