The old 550/551 is my favorite KAI knife. Glad i got a hold of one. I guess it doesnt matter since i wont buy one with the deep carry clip, but i wouldnt want a flipper or KVT added to the 550. I can flip my 551 with thumbstuds faster than i could flip the 560 with the flipper or thumbstud.

I must say, I have carried clipped pocket knifes for over 15 years now. The clip on the older 550 has never hung up on anything yet. I have carried this style for 4 months now. No other clip design has worked as well for me. At first I thought it was short and the worst part of the knife. It has really grown on me.

Yeah... I was thinking that I would like to get one, but that side by side really shows how the older one shines. Gotta say, the cutout on the lockbar on the outside was a draw for me. But now that I've seen it, I'm not sure I like it. Glad I have an old style one already. No pressure to buy one of either design.

No disrespect to KAI, but I definitely like the old style better, in every way. Slab side and old clip are my preferred.

The 0561 clip is one of the best I have ever used. I prefer it to the OG 550s any day. The cutout on the outside on my 0561 has never hung up on my pants or jeans or whatnot. I know its a real concern with some folders, but the rounded corners of the cut out help alleviate this problem completely while making the entirety of the lock bar more inline with the blade.
