ZT kills off 4 models

This.
Hey knife companies, not everyone likes DLC, just like not everyone likes to wear only black t-shirts every day, who would've thought hey? Idiotic decisions like this made by knife companies kill some of the best looking blade shapes on production knives. A stone wash model of this just like the Cold Steel recon series would look 10x better than black blades. Is it just me or do knife companies always manage to find a way to ruin 98% of every single nice drop point blade?

Seriously. It's a great blade shape and size. Can't I just get one that's not all murdered out and tacticool? I totally would have tried one if it had just been stonewashed.

I'm glad to see the 0562 is still around. It is a truly exceptional knife. I hope the 0920 last awhile too as it is awesome. Fingers crossed there are some more George designs in the future with the discontinuation of two of the three. I'm always excited to see what ZT has in the pipeline.

I am pretty surprised the 0220 was not one on the chopping block. It looks like a nice knife, but I almost ever see any mention of it. It must be more popular than I thought.

I really like the 804, here's hoping I can find one for a good price. I hope they make a version with g10
OR maybe an internally milled full TI version with black wash and bronze anodized hardware.. like the 0392 BWBRZ.

I just handled one yesterday at my local bm, it's nice but it was put back on the shelf and I kept on window shopping. So many options these days. Makes me wonder if there were less viable options if I'd be sooner to make decisions.

I've been looking at the 0804 for about a year now...the price drop got me to pull the trigger today. Come on Monday!!!

I may have to order a 0630 before it's gone. I was always curious about it. I wonder if they will go any lower in price.

usamade is one of the best, but gp is cheaper by a few bucks on the 0909.

Now out of stock unfortunately. I still picked up a 900 and 909 from another site, but will have to find another way to give USAmadeblade my money :)

Well, glad I picked up a 900 recently. I'd really like an 804, even with all that DLC. I handled one and it is sweet. If the price comes down, maybe I'll grab one.

I've recently had a general guilty feeling about not being able to properly maintain/use all my existing knives so I've been very picky about looking at new knives to buy. Plus, my office has a blade length limit. The 0900 is one I've come close to picking up but I just thought it might be too similar to my 0801 in carryability to justify it. I also struggle with the idea of a blade with that kind of thickness:length ratio ("sharpened prybar" and all that). If someone can convince me otherwise, I may go for it, even if only to preserve a bit of passing ZT history. I also liked the look of the 0804CF and I liked its place in the lineup (classy-looking Rexford with more slicing edge than the 0801 and upgraded steel) but it's too big and pricy to find a place in my carry lineup. I've been eyeing the 0460 since it was announced since it has the size, the slicing power, and that touch of flair that I've been gravitating towards.

Definitely picking up a 630. I liked the design of the Kershaw CQC 6 but mine's fit and finish was pretty abysmal. Up and down bladeplay was so bad it would rattle if you shook it. Looking forward to an Emerson design with ZT's fit and finish

If you don't already have any of those pick at least one, they are great models each in their own league

I like them all, I already have a 0630 but damn it is hard not to be tempted by all the others ;)

A annasoH323 I am a fan of my 0801 I have very similar feelings to what you have described
My advice is pick a 0630, the CF version of you can afford it should be great

IMO te 0801 is the best KVT flipper from ZT, but my bes knives from ZT are manual-washers folders: 0550 and 0630

ZT follows trends with all the titanium framelock shall bearing flipper things since they have great manufacturing capabilities but where they really stand up to any midterm is on their design of manual folders on washers
Their operate smoothly with enough detent to be flipped open if required

My best experience with manual folders are CRK and my couples of ZT

If you don't already have experienced one don't miss the opportunity to get one at a discount price

I dream of a manual framelock with a solid m390 blade
Just like the 0630CF without the wave

But still, my 0630 is at the moment my reference for ZT craftsmanship

I'll cross my fingers for the introduction of a ZT Emerson with a blade 3.5" or less, but if they do introduce a new ZTE I suspect they'll go in the other direction.

Honestly if ZT would make a version of the cqc7 or even better the HD7 that would be like heaven.
