ZT Limited Edition 0999

I think the carbon fiber looks better on the KJ. Because, the tabs on the ZT makes it looks removable and flimsy. Probably isn't but , why the tabs?

I suspect added technical difficulty. This is clearly a knife on which a lot is done not because it's a good idea...but simply to prove that they COULD. The tabs make it more complex therefore desireable in a product like this.

I think the comparisons to Concept Cars is a pretty good one. Here's a blade where if you'd ask the maker why he'd probably say "because I can". No other real reason in a lot of the things they did with it.

I'm sure most haven't handled one of these at a Knife Show. The R&D that went into making these is insane. I was drooling over it at Blade 2015, Amazed at all the little details that are hard to show in photos. I'm sure ZT isn't making a dime on these. They are showcasing there ability to make these amazing pieces and making them available to us knife lovers.Sad thing is the folks who would gladly buy these for $750 are gonna pay more as the flippers are going to buy them up and throw them on EBay

It's an art knife. I don't mind a bit of art in knives, but stuff like this is too much for me. If you enjoy this sort of thing, enough to pay 750 then it's a great deal, all that matters is what you think about it, certainly everyone has different tastes and ideas of value.

It's very cool, but there is no way I can afford $750, so I'm buthurt about it.

I'm asking Santa for mine. Hope he's got the hookup

I got to check out one of these at Blade earlier this year, and I liked it. It really is an impressive showcase of engineering and manufacturing capability. The attention to detail on the 0999 really is incredible. To me, it seemed more intended to be a showcase knife than an everyday utility piece, but after handling it briefly, it does feel pretty sturdy. This is going to be an awesome knife, and best of luck to everyone that's going to try for one.

I want one.

Will I be able to get one? Probably not. But, I'd be willing to pay the original asking price, if I had it available. No time to sell knives to make up the cash, but I'm definitely considering it.

At a mere 20 percent interest, why not? 🤑

Don't like anything about this model ex: overall design, blade & handle shape, especially price. The only LE I liked was ZT0606 and over $500 it is overpriced.

I really like it and I think it's very impressive from a technical standpoint as well. I just can't afford one right now, this year destroyed my finances 😢

I approve of ZT/KAI's efforts to stop the scalpers by making their knives absurdly expensive at the first point of sale. Kudos!

I mean, I'm not buying this knife (I held it at Blade last year and didn't love it), but I'm sure every one of them will still sell.

Well, if they make 600 of them, that's a cool 450,000 dollars at 750 each. I don't believe ZT is not making any money at that return.

They will be sold through a few authorized ZT dealers so ZT gets much less than $750 per knife. Also, I very much doubt they'll crank out 600 pieces. My guess would be around 300-400.

I love the design not as an edc but as many have stated because of the intricacy of it and engineering. The price point is out of my range so I won't be trying for it but I can certainly enjoy the pics and videos from those who have the disposable income. Great design can't wait to see the next limited piece ZT comes out with.

Showcasing their abilities with a Limited Edition offering. Amazing looking knife. Kudos to ZT! Award winner too. I'll be trying for one.

I doubt the number made will reach that, especially this complex of a design.

All the R&D time spent making protos, Materials used and wasted making things work, Making the Composite Blades, CF pieces, Ti pieces man hours going to shows to market it, assembly, shipping to dealers etc etc..

Yeah I'm pretty positive they're making little to nothing on these.
